• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

Tacoma3G is a beginner-friendly 3rd Generation Toyota Tacoma (2016-2023 model-years) forum. We are a community of people who are focused on good information and good vibes. T3G is the passion-project of a USMC/Toyota technician.

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

I don’t have it tied I to the battery yet but I got my Overland Equipped AUX Power kit installed! Wanted to get this in before I started adding ditch lights and other accessories. I’m going to upgrade the battery terminals with KnuKonceptz before connecting the new fuse block. I have those ready but I’ll need to wait for this weekend to get those installed.
@Raven-Technik, Where are you putting the aux battery?

Put in the extinguisher holder. attaches to the seat jackers with a mole type panel.

I tried looking at it to get at it. But there’s all kinds of stuff mounted right in the way.
Need to get better friends.

Looks like you almost joined the @Butch 's damaged rear bumper club... Time for a steel high clearance rear bumper?

I completely agree. None of my friends that wheel drive Tacoma's. I have a couple friends who are into overlanding, but don't go hard. I tried to hang out with the KC/STL Toyota guys this weekend as they all came down for a Glade Top Take Over. I must of missed all of them, I think I saw 3 people while I was out.

It was totally my fault, I honestly wasn't even on a trail lmao. I was backing up from a turn off to take a leak. Backed up and cut it a little too hard and too soon for the gravel road. Live and learn I guess. Gonna see if my PDR buddy can get most of it out. Eventually I'll get bumpers and a winch. I didn't get as crazy as I normally do because I was by my self.

Changed my oil. Probably the most complicated filter change I’ve ever done. On top of that, the dealer must have employed the Hulk in their maintenance department - the filter housing was stupid tight. I ended up swapping out the factory plastic one for an OEM aluminum filter housing.
Where did you get the oem aluminum housing from? I just did some looking around and the one that’s about $30 appears plastic in the pics, but it looks like the same part number as the one that looks aluminum in other pictures.

Bought mine at dealership but this looks like the exact same one. If I remember, it was around $30ish. Says it fits a bunch of different models including Tacoma, FJ, 4runner etc.
