• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

Tacoma3G is a beginner-friendly 3rd Generation Toyota Tacoma (2016-2023 model-years) forum. We are a community of people who are focused on good information and good vibes.

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

Got real sick and tired of my massive water bottles rolling around my truck. Borrowed this idea from the forum who shall not be named. Chalk Bag for rock climbing.

It was super simple to install. I used a extra long lag bolt to keep it under the console. Worked awesome!! Ended up buying 2 from Amazon.

This might not have been today, but it's super recent!

Added a White V2 GFC... Beyond pumped.

I wrote a post on our Trail Tacoma site. It's a super detailed article on what a cross-country road trip to GFC looks like.

Illinois to Montana: 3,000 Mile Road Trip To Pick Up A GFC Camper

Check it out and let me know what you think.

I decided I couldn’t let @Trail Tacoma have all the fun. Picked up our GFC last week! Youtube video coming out soon!

Enjoyed the write up of your trip. Planning an MT run myself with me family in May.

Critiques: too many photos, too much verbiage.
Recommendation: 1) aim to communicate your feelings about whatever it is (camper, pretty truck, scenic beauty) without directly saying it, and use as few words as possible to get your point across.
2) decrease the number of photos by 50%. A lesser number of super high quality photos will impact people more.

Installed my truck bed header rail from Toyota Parts ($32.33 including shipping to dealer). I will be mounting recovery boards and my external fire extinguisher to it. Also installed the KC Gravity G4 fog lights I bought from @gelsi2033. Pics posted. Carriage bolts work just fine with washers. This is just a test, I am going to find some wing nuts to use to take on and off easier.

Details:

2 Each: 5/16" x 2 1/2" Carriage Bold Grade 8 with washer and 5/16"-18 Wing Nuts, Zinc, Course for the Jack Base.
2 Each: 1/2" -13 x 3" Hex Cap Screw Grade 8, with 1/2" flat washer and 1/2" - 13 Wing Nuts, Zinc, Course for the Recovery Board.

2 Each: 9/16" - 12 x 3" Hex Cap Screws, Grade 8 with 9/16" x 1/2" washer for the fire extinguisher mount (still 'fabricating').

I couldn't find 1/2" or 9/16"carriage bolts, but these work. Will replace later. Solid as a rock!
Purchased at Tacoma Screw (love the name) for $11.

Took a Road trip to western NC this week and a day trip to Wind Rock Tenn. Of course this trip gave me an excuse to ditch my cheap amazon boards and buy some new Maxtrax. Haven't needed them......yet.

You are going to enjoy the maxtrax. Like your storage idea. Of course you will need an outside location for those cold, wet, muddy stuck as fuck nights when you just can’t take the time to clean them. Oh ya,,,I like your tacoma3g sticker location.

Awesome! We are headed to Bryson City, NC for Spring Break. Any other recommendations in Western NC?

So much to do if you love the outdoors. I came up to visit a friend in Fletcher and took advantage of having a couple of extra days. Did find some great food (and beer) in Waynesville (Boojum Brewery), and Asheville Sierra Nevada Brewing CO. The drive on the Blue Ridge Pkwy is really nice and worth taking your time and stopping at the sights. Max Patch was muddy and still had snow on the ground. Probably not a big deal for you coming from MI, but we came up from FL.

Had a short day at work so I finally changed the oil. I definitely like the aluminum filter cap over the stock plastic. Sucks that I still have to jack up the truck to drain the pan out, I was hoping I had enough clearance.... Oh well.

Noted. Thanks for the input!

Really trying to write a detailed story there and convey every single aspect to immerse the readers. But I hear what you're saying.

Currently staring at my truck... Can't wait to get to camping!

Last one... for now.

By the way, if you ever considered getting a GFC... now's the time. Super short lead times! Some of the industry best, near as I can tell.
Would love to, but just put down $4500 for an iKamper 3.0 for my wife's Gx460...need to save up a bit before a GFC

Installed my KC Gravity G4 Fog Lights. Waaaay better than the OEM yellow ones. Shout out to @gelsi2033 for the hook up! Still need to hook up my Rigid 30" SR PRO Lightbar.
