    2021 Tacoma-Bought New-Battery Life expectancy?

Just turned 10,000 miles. Have had the Tacoma V6 4 Door for 25 months now. What OEM battery life are other owners finding? Is it a cheapo that dies after a couple of years, or do they last longer? I tend to replace batteries with top grade options before they die. I have never had a...

2024 Tacoma Revealed! Here's Everything About It.

Longer front door. That would be helpful for me. Maybe a bit higher sill to door height. Even an inch would help over the Gen 3. I like the wheel arches.

    Got side swiped...

Thanks for responding. I sent that pic to my body shop. Here is the reply form the shop owner: I've been doing bodywork/painting for over 30 years now, I'm sure I can take care of it for you! Look at the bright side, it looks like everything can be repaired instead of having to order parts-...

    Got side swiped...

3,200 miles new! Dang. Seems like every truck I buy gets hit within months. This is the 4th new truck over the years damaged when new. None of my old cars get banged up right after I buy them. Only the new ones! Hopefully it can be repaired correctly.

Picked up the second remote key today...

When I bought my Tacoma a few months ago it only came with a single remote key. And a note promising a second one "someday" in the future. Well that day was today. Interesting experience. Toyota went to the trouble of confirming via email the appointment for the key and programming. I got...

    Toyota Production Cut

They still owe me a remote key fob for the NEW Tacoma I bought 4 months ago. Only came with one. Their plan will "chip" away at sales, that's for sure.

Anyone else concerned about 3G Network being retired as of Nov 1, 2022?

I still think of my Toyota as a truck, not a communication/entertainment device. Maybe I'm just an old geezer and out of touch. No offense intended toward the "wired generation". Everything went downhill with the tape recorder answering machine in the home. :giggle:

What is the deepest engine repair you undertook on your V6?

Is everything so new nothing has gone wrong yet? Or have some of you dug into the engine making repairs? What was it, how hard was it, and how did it turn out? Or is it still all warranty work?

    Ham Radio Installation

You will have a lot of fun with ham radio. Especially well equipped mobile. Stay away from cheap Asian imported radios. They only make you want to buy better equipment.

    Ham Radio Installation

I installed a Yaesu FT-7900 dual band mobile ham radio into our Tacoma. Power is run by dual fused heavy DC power cable directly from battery to the rear cab. I brought the cable into the cab by putting a small slit in the main cable boot in the firewall near the brake pedal an pulled the cable...

    Redline Hood Struts Installed--Mission Accomplished

Took about an hour to install the Redline hood strut kit. Max lift option. I found the instructions clear. The process simple. And the product good quality. Used a tapered reamer to slightly enlarge the drilled holes for the rivets. Happy with the results. Thanks for all the advice...

Hood is heavier than a load of sin. Need struts.

Thanks for the pic. My kit arrived and will be installed today. This pic helped. Upon first read of the instructions I was not sure if the black trim piece above the strut mount needed removal. HT

Hood is heavier than a load of sin. Need struts.

Looking into installing hood struts. That hood is heavier than a load of sin. I noticed there are several options. Which ones are you happy with? Any brand to avoid? Early failure stories? Installation nightmares? Thanks for your advice. HT

    Suggestions for 16" wheels

I want to replace the steel wheels on my new 2021 Tacoma SR. Not trying to get burly, just nice looking original size and offset. It has 16 x 7 steel factory wheels. Want to stay pretty close to that. Any suggestions? Seems like a lot of sources are out of stock etc.

    Event Data Recorder--Friend or Foe?

Seems all cars come with these now. It is in the SRS module of the 2021 Tacoma. No second key from dealer--New delivery today--Mfgr short on keys

OK, Space Trim. This might be the answer. But how did you program it to work for your particular vehicle. On my Liberty I needed TWO programmed keys to program a third. Hopefully the Toyota is different. Did you have the dealer program it, or did you program it?
