• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Axle upgrades for the Sr5 8"

Getting close to making the move to regear and locker the 2020 sr. If I am going to upgrade the rear end now is the time to do so. 2 obvious options come to mind, keeping the 8" or getting a 8.75 trd complete rear end. Any other rear end/ axle/ locker setups I should look at? Expecting to...

    LCAs with forward mounting position

Heard about another option besides body mount chops for fitting 35s. LCAs that shift the centerline about 3/4 in forward. Anyone tried these yet? Also came across a bracket that relocated the stock LCAs forward a little. Still have life in the 32s but will be going to 35s in the future.

    Maintenance VCS error after alignment

I lifted my truck, no errors. Replaced the windshield, no errors. Hit a pothole and got another alignment and had the error screen. Part of the safety system monitors pitch and yaw relative to the direction of the steering wheel. The ecu records the center position and trips an error if it...

How does the truck know to throw an error code? I lifted the truck a year ago, replaced the windshield 2 weeks ago, and it didn't go error until i went in for an alignment. Help! Please help..

I'm going through the same thing. My truck was knocked out of alignment last week, and the PCS error code was on my dash mid alignment. The guy was just taking it out for the little test drive, and the error appears.

    Knocked out of alignment

@Tacomadad18 I saw your video about the adjustment under the dash. What do you think was the actual cause of your case of misalignment? Mine was just a pothole I think.
  15. CBrob

    Knocked out of alignment

I'm a little anxious about what I'm going to find when the truck is getting it's alignment. It drove straight, but the amount that the steering wheel is now out of whack is concerning. I hope it's not rack and pinion that is bent. The cams all looked good.

    Knocked out of alignment

Had someone run a shuttle for me on a raft trip (anyone remember Deliverence?) They must have rallied the 3rd gen pretty hard. The camber on one wheel is out visibly, the spc bolt has moved in it's slot. Is there anything other than 150 ft lbs of torque that can help keep it in place? Who knows...
