• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

He won’t even email me back. He offered me a deal on a rack but I called cbi and they gave me an even better one.
i'll be in vista in the morning if you or tyler are free to come by. getting my cmc done.

There was no new news to report. I am trying here, but you need to try to be patient. There are people that have been waiting longer than you... When there was an update, I let you know every time.

I will admit, we are behind on your order. The powder coat company we use is usually a one week turn around, it took them 4 weeks. There is only so much I can do once it is at powder coat. They kept pushing me out and pushing me out too. They told me a week, then another week, then another week and finally brought it to me this morning.

I have been nothing but responsive. You have been emailing me, messaging me on Tacomaworld and Instagram and messaging our Ambassadors which won't really help you much because they aren't running the shop, I am. They all have been messaging me to let me know and I have been telling them the same answer I have been telling you. No offense but eventually I stopped replying to you because every time I stop to tell you the same answer, it puts me more behind on the other 100+ orders I am trying to build and ship.

I emailed you this morning. Your order came back from powder coat at 9am today. I put it on a pallet and FedEx is in route to pick it up.

This delay is an anomaly for us. When it rains it pours. In 6 weeks we had equipment breakdowns, powder coat delays, material delays, and personnel issues internally. We aren't thrilled about being late, just as much as you aren't thrilled about us being late.

EDIT: Sorry. This was a response to @Catfish . I tagged Jay by mistake.

Thanks! It’s a CBI. I just got the front bumper. Will post some pics once I have a chance to install it.
You doing the cutting yourself? I'll be doing mine soon but that part scares the shit out of me, haha.

I am doing it myself. Just take your time and you’ll be good. The front doesn’t look too bad. The rear bumper was a bit sketchy because the instructions they give you were crap. They give you measurements for the cut, but don’t give you exact places to measure from. They also tell you to bend a tape measure around the fender to get the measurements. All tape measures bend differently. I tried two and came up with two different spots. It came out fine in the end though. Love there bumpers, they just need to work on there instructions. Let me know if you have any questions when your ready to install it.

What tool did you use to make a smooth cut on the plastic front bumper cover? When I trimmed my flares and inner fender liners, I used a Dremel with plastic cutoff wheels but they kept getting "clogged" with melted plastic and the end result was pretty ugly.

I used a 90 degree die grinder with the biggest diameter cutoff wheel I could find. For me the larger diameter cutoff wheels are much easier to control, And they don’t clog up.

Good to know, thanks for the tips!

Fox 2.5 Factory Series shocks with Resi & DSC. [Tundra Rear shock] I had to finagle with them a little to fit with my HD Dakars leaf pack (An angle grinder is your best friend). but overall. Great step up from my bilstein 5100. next up, Fox Coilovers 2.5 with Resi and DSC..

I was going to use that same mod ,then i watched this video wich shows how and why water gets into the diff. This mod will not stop the water from being sucked into the diff from the axle seals. I will be getting the more expensive ARB kit but will give better protection.

I appreciate the video. It provided me with a better understanding of what is actually going on and why the mod is needed. With that in mind, I researched the breather part number used in this mod (90930-03136 Breather Fitting). There seems to be confusion as to if this is a one way or two way breather. As far as I can tell it is the two way breather used for the extended lines in the front of the vehicle, as well as, in the Forerunners. So I feel pretty safe this mod will be okay unless someone can show me it is not a two way breather. Thanks again for the vid.
