• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Creative Front End Light Mounting

Where can I find this bar??? I've been looking. N-Fab seems to be on lots of online catalogs but also completely out of stock.

Seeking suggestions: Mounting bar for lights!

Really hoping to mount some LP4 or LP6 lights in front bumper area on my 3rd Gen.... and I'm finding nothing on the market for a mounting solution. Baja Designs has one option that comes with like five lights.... but I have to believe there's a solution out there that will allow me to mount two...

    Newly-Purchased Leer Camper: Junk?

Hi, six-time Tacoma owner, and nine of my ten trucks have been Toyota-- all but one or two with fiberglass camper shells. Just bought a new Leer 100XR, and wow things have gone downhill for that brand. This is the third or fourth Leer product I've owned. For sure the front removeable slider is...

E-brake adjustment after rear brake replacement?

Just had the honor of going through axle seal replacement, had a good shop do it as that job is beyond my resources. Included full rear brake replacement with OEM parts. The e-brake handle now pulls up to my ear and doesn't feel firm at all. Shop says it'll get better as auto-adjuster gets going...

    Group 31 battery upgrade

Hi all Seemed like a good idea to upgrade battery size since I'm also installing a few more accessories. After installing the setup shown in the photo (including cleaning up terminal plate connections of paint) the battery couldn't turn over the truck. A quick jumper cable connection fired...

    Ride-Rite Air Springs...Y or N?

Current setup: TRD OR long bed with ICON Stage One and ICON Add-A-Leaf. Lifted a couple inches, which is all I need. This setup works great as a daily, or for the off-road camping I do. But when I add a rear rack and my 280-lb dirt bike, it's not enough. So, the age-old question: Upgrade rear...

    Stainless Steel Brake Lines?

I think we all have an understanding of the nature of stock Tacoma brakes- mediocre. Bad even, when Tacomas are a bit heavy like mine when carrying moto on back, camping gear, whatnot. For this and my last Tacoma, I switched to these rotors which at least avoid warping like the stock rotors. I...

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

Count me as a Pedal Commander fan--installed it today and the little gadget works great, makes the pedal response way more immediate and has a ton of adjustability. Had considered the OVTune option, which I realize is a completely different thing...but PC is a great choice. Wish I did it sooner.

Unequal ride height left vs right

Hi and apologies if this is addressed elsewhere (plz direct me if so) Just installed Icon stage 1 suspension with Icon AAL in my '16 TRD OR LB and the truck rides GREAT. No changes to front spring height; went on straight out of box and put truck about where I wanted it. All good, but I see the...

    On-Board Air-- Add Reservoir Tank?

I'm looking at adding an on-board air system, wired in via accessory fuse block and done up proper. I can also see the benefit of having compressed air available for a bunch of reasons. Anyone add a air tank to their system? Location? Problems?

Low ATF from factory in 2016 TRD OR

I would have hoped it would have been checked earlier, like when I had TSB update, but I suppose it's a significant process since there's no dipstick. But given it was a known issue, I would have thought one of many techs providing services along the way would have been proactive.

Low ATF from factory in 2016 TRD OR

In Sept 2019 I bought an apparently well cared-for 2016 TRD OR 4x4 (long bed, if that matters) that benefited from regular maintenance under Toyotacare. One of the first things I did was go through the hoops to have local dealer update the trans per TSB 77-16. Only today, upon having the 60k...

Low ATF from factory in 2016 TRD OR

Sept 2019 I purchased a seemingly well cared-for 2016 TRD OR 4WD (long bed, if that matters) that had regular maintenance and benefited from extended warranty. One of the first things I did was have a local dealer update the transmission (via TSB 77-16.) Despite all that attention, no one ever...
