• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

I don't like K&N at all honestly but it's personal preference. Dry filters are definitely superior to oiled filters, though. Better filtration, less maintenance, no chance of damaging the MAF.

Thanks!

Selling them, hoping to recoup $450 out of them.

Me too!!! So stoked.
If you don't mind, can I have the P/N off the aFe you used? Currently I use the K&N for daily driving, but held onto the OEM for trips like Death Valley in October.

It's always a good idea to keep an extra stock filter around (y)

Part number is 31-10247

These will probably be some of the last photos of the stock-ish truck. I can't wait to get rid of the factory pogo stick suspension!

New tires are waiting for me at home but it's hard to be excited because I just heard that a good friend of mine's heart exploded and he is not expected to survive. Why does it seem like it's always the good guys?

Nobody here knows him but Steve is a Tacoma guy with a Quicksand DCLB. Please keep my friend and his family in your thoughts and prayers today.

I’ll be praying for him. Never a good thing to see pain like that caused to people you know.

Thanks man. There's not too many good guys like him left, especially in my line of work which tends to be cutthroat and full of genuine assholes. He'd always stick his neck out for what's right even if he lost in the end. I hope he pulls through and is still able to have a good quality of life.

Crazy how it’s always the good ones. Recently my Dad had a heart attack, we found out all pathways to his heart were at least 80% blocked and two were 100% blocked. But they did open heart surgery and he is back to his normal self. It is amazing what they can do now, so I have high hopes for your friend. I’ll keep praying for everyone.

I appreciate that and am so glad to hear your dad is doing well after all that! It is amazing what they can do nowadays.

Unfortunately it sounds like Steve suffered an aortic rupture and his wife found him not breathing. He made it to the hospital and through 8 hours of surgery, but apparently had a stroke at some point and is in an induced coma right now. It's not looking good for him, but people have bounced back from worse. Time will tell.

You guys think if I put these on before the suspension and "accidentally" rip the front bumper off with the tire that the wife will let me armor up at that point? :ROFLMAO:

Hahaha truth! The longer I stare at that pile of cash the more I second guess myself so they need to hurry up and take my money!

I think I'll have enough left over for bumpers too maybe... but I think the wife would *actually* murder me so I'll have to chill for a minute.

Do it! Might as well just buy everything at once... if she kills you I have dibs on that ADS suspension you have coming in.

What bumpers have you been looking at?

It is better to ask for forgiveness Then to ask for permission. Just do it.

I'm torn. I like RCI, CBI, and TJM, but also like the Demello Baja front bumper and the Mobtown rear bumper. So basically, I'm not sure.

I may wait until Overland Expo next year and see what happens. In years past, most of those guys have offered 15-20% off and had inventory on hand so I wouldn't have to pay shipping, and I might even get one of them to help me cut the front bumper on-site so I don't fuck it up.
