• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Tyler's #VanLife on 37s Four Wheel Camper Build & Tacoma3G.com Shenanigans

I kid you not, I've actually thought about things, not said anything out loud, and sure enough it pops up in my feed somewhere the next time I'm online. I don't know how that's possible, but it's creepy.

They're incepting the idea into your head then you're "discovering it organically" online later with this eerie feeling along with it :)

Went to test my new wide angle lens with random photos. I need to learn what all the manual camera settings and terms mean though.

some great content here. How long have you been traveling for now, and where have your adventures taken you to?
I have been to most National Parks in the country. That’s the best way for you to have an idea of where I’ve been. But that was all done with a roof top tent. As of having the camper, I haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

LOOK WHO IS BACK! This still feels unreal. This blue K10 was my first truck, bought in 2009 for $800. Paige and I have so many memories in it, including our first date. It has a 350 and a fully locked rear; it always did the best burnouts and drifts. I beat the hell out of it, as a teenager would, and even blew up two engines (third time is a charm). I sold it for $400 when I left for the Marine Corps in 2013 and haven’t seen it since. This week, the owner contacted me and ASKED IF I WANT IT BACK. I couldn’t believe he still had it. He never touched it; title is still in my name and it still has a NY inspection sticker on the window from 2011. We were able to get it started relatively easy with some ether shots to the carb. I drove it to its new resting spot at my mother’s house, 5 miles away, with no plates on it. To reduce our chance of getting in trouble, we threw a tow rope on the Tacoma and “flat-towed” it, even though I still drive it under its own power. I know exactly what I’ll be doing with her after I get done with the road life. Crew cab body, no bed, fully caged, and 40s on built 1-tons. And then it’s going to Moab.

Awesome that he contacted you. That's pretty good timing to get it back. It was seriously still in your name?

That's awesome! I had an 86 bronco that I straight axled on 40s. I sold it, bought reliable transportation and a yfz450. Made sense at the time since I was in school and didn't have the time to keep fixing it but always regretted getting rid of it. One of these days I'm going to get time for another full size bronco build.

Testing or not, the truck looks stellar man. (y) (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

Looks good to me 🤷‍♂️. I'll check it on my laptop tomorrow.

We just got done installing a lil’ shrink kit because we want to be sure we can explore even the tightest of trails. We figured the factory size of the Tacoma would be a little too big. What do you guys think of the rig now?

I haven’t posted in my own thread in a long time, it’s kind of sad. Life has been weird for us during the virus.

But for Paige’s birthday we finally got to test out our camper (in the only place that is currently allowing camping here).

Here are some photos. More to come of the interior build.

Looks like a good time man. FL has like 1 maybe 2 beaches where you can drive & camp and the one I know of is still closed sadly.
