• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Tire Size Fitment and Lift

You may want to check the legality of using spacers. They are illegal here in West Virginia.

Has anybody tried 275/70/16 on stock wheels with no spaces and a 2.5in leveling kit?
But i had 275/70's and it was like 1/8" away from my control arm with SPC uppers and a 3" lift.

*NOTE* I dont know if there is an offset or backspacing difference between the TRD sport & TRD offroad. Mine is a sport. You might hit the stock UCA.

Thank you I might see if a tire shop will let me try them on to see if they fit

Happy with my setup:
Fuel Covert 17x9 ET1
Falken Wildpeak 265/70/17
Front leveling spacer kit 1"

TumbleWeed, it looks great even without a lift kit. By the way, when I was trying to modify a lift kit of my truck, which was registered to my company , first of all I've tried AIR LIFT series rear air spring kit, and it's awesome! I forgot about rough ride or squatting or understatement, no joke.

I thought I could only upgrade my 2020 tacoma with 285s but we went for 33's (which are basically P305) on a 17" wheel and only a 2" lift front 1" back. Had to cut a little to prevent rubbing but it was minimal. Tires fit perfect and in my view gives it that extra beef I was looking for.

So I like them tall and skinny;) I'm thinking of going with a 3" front 2" rear, leveling kit. It's my daily driver so mpg is a big factor. I was thinking 245/75R17. Stock wheels and UCA. What is everyone's opinions?

I recently bought my first Tacoma (2020 TRD Pro) and am very new to doing any modifications to this truck.
I'm hoping to change up my tires and wheels in the near future but I am wondering what category my truck falls into for the tire references? I know the pro has a slight lift but not a ton? I would like to put 33s on 17s without doing much extra lifting or cutting.. does anyone know if this is achievable?

Just gave the Taco some new shoes. Went from the stock steel wheels with 235/85-16 tires to a set of Black Rhino Bantam 16x8 with -10 offset and 255/85-16 Cooper SST Max tires. 2.5 Old Man Emu lift, med springs, heavy Dakar pack in rear. Zero rubing. No mods needed. Stance is more aggressive. I do have an ARB Summit front bumper which opened up the wheel well a bit but I doubt they would rub with the stick bumper either.

That will work, yes.

Im interested in buying a set of wheels 17x8.5 -12 offset. I’m not looking to lift just yet. I saw from the original post that 265/70r/17 would fit but would the negative offset cause rubbing. Most of my driving is highway and occasional driving in snow up in the mountains. Thanks

*Ready lift 3in front, 2in rear
*scs f5 16x8 3.50" BS 6x139.7
*nitto ridge grappler 295/75/16
*cmc and lots of cutting but I have full clearance lock to lock with articulation

I have been adding a lot of exterior cosmetics, while saving for a good lift combination. And would like to hear from some of you pros for suggestions. I am thinking, 2-3 inch leveling kit, with a 2.75, stage 3 Icon suspension lift. I am manly a beach 4x4 person, and occasional east coast fields, for Hunting. No Rock crawling adventures my way. So I don’t need an suspension lift kit. Ty in advance.

i believe this man is asking how much his rims will stick out :ROFLMAO:

this is the factory rim specs for 2019 tacoma 3.5L
ET
XX would be the positive offset
245/75R16 109S 7Jx16 ET25
265/70R16 112T 7Jx16 ET25
265/65R17 110S 7.5Jx17 ET30
265/60R18 109H 7.5Jx18 ET30

now you can take that and look at your truck and go from there

In relation to this, most toyota wheels I'm seeing online are 7jx16 et35
Is that setup ok on a factory truck? What does the extra 10 offset do -make it wider wheelbase or closer to the brake calipers?
This is so confusing.

It will make it closer to the caliber and upper ball joint lower the number the further it geos outwards from the car
