Haha yeah looking like 5-1/2 hours each way from my place to the trailhead with zero traffic and no stops.

Torn because I'm actually free that whole weekend which is not a common thing.
I mean I drove 9 hours straight to Lake Tahoe so for me to get to a meetup that’d be a yes but it’s up to you bro. Wede love to have you out

Can anyone school me where the trailhead is located? I've been out to the Cajon Pass a few times to photograph trains, just not super familiar with that area.

Is this trail worth 10+ hours on the road to get to?

@JerryTaco2.0 @JTS2016TACO what's your schedule look like the weekend after next? Thinking maybe we could hit Cleghorn Saturday and roll out to Oceano Campground that night and hang at Pismo for a bit Sunday before heading back, you guys down?
absolutely not

I thought you meant 10 hours one way for some reason. 5.5 though? I love driving so I think I would do that.

...Until I hit traffic and then I’d start regretting my life.
Forgot to mention I have a wife and 4-year-old. If it was just me it would be a no-brainer. I used to drive 21 hours straight every year to Dubois, WY from AZ via Albuquerque to pick up my best friend. 5-1/2 hours ain't no thing, but #dadlife.

it’s a decent trail but only like 2 hours maybe long. would be better to link cleghorn to pilot rock to john bull and through to fawnskin

Hmm, if it's ~2 hours long that would mean we're back on the road by 1pm at the latest after we're done bullshitting at the end, giving us time to head for Oceano / Pismo for some beach time with the girls.

Decisions.

Been following this thread and thinking about it. Really would like to test out the new wheels and tires. Already have some shit planned for that Saturday but might be able to get out of it. Maybe if some other AZ people are heading out Friday evening and camping I might try and swing it. The whole CA thing kind of ruins my usual gear stuff I carry on a regular basis!

There’s an AZ thread for this. Did you check with them?
