3rd Gen Front Bumper Mega Thread

This is a great thread and source of information. I didn't even know I needed/wanted a new front bumper. And now I do! Damn you TACOMA3G!!

I think it will be the Victory Blitz with grill bar. I need some of that good overtime money now!!

@Victory4x4 is regularly here on the site, so be sure to hit them up before you place your order. ??

Southern Style Offroad is also under shelter in place in Louisiana and I believe they're locked out of working on orders as well.

I hadn't seen that. Crazy
Yep! I always wanted to live in The Twilight Zone!

Strange days. Might as well make the best of it 'cause getting upset is only going to make it worse on everyone. Our gun club even closed. ?

Kids are home and hanging out, taking the dog for many walks, working on the truck, reloading for the precision rifle in case we get a season to compete in, working on the truck, eating too much, reorganizing the basement to make a workout space now. No excuses... got plenty of time...

Excited to wrap these first few up and drop the production runs.
Ultimately we got the ok for 'tacoma' for the display and reference pics for Toyota catalog. But otherwise will be taco only option or custom wording.

Do you guys cut your own bumpers or have a shop cut it for you? A lot of the trucks here with cut bumpers look so good as if its factory. Looking to get a bumper myself. Thanks.

cut it yourself! its super easy...just plastic too. I used a multi-tool to cut mine and didnt need to do any cleanup or sanding after

I had a little bumper cutting anxiety. I found a black bumper on ebay to cut instead of the 2020.
Some day I will have to cut. But not today.

Exited to be the second owner of this bumper 😀
You guys think I should do anything to the black plastic bumper cover I bought?
If I just run it black, should I wax it or armour all it?

Is is rough plastic right now? I’m not body man but may want to spray a clear on it or lightly wet sand it (not sure what order lol)

Yep. Just rough plain plastic now.
Posted a pic above.
It was about 150 shipped...
I've still got new truck cutting phobia and will put the factory plastic on a shelf for now, uncut.

A clear coat may be the way to go.
Or black rust-oleum I suppose.

I thought so, just hard to see in a pic lol. Yeah black spray or a clear would be what I planned.

Cutting is a commitment for sure!

Yeah, either clear-coat it or wrap it with vinyl or PPF.

Then when you're ready to cut it, use it as a practice piece or a template for your OEM painted one 🤙

Kinda missing Warfab on here. We had good talks. I know he had his reasons but they shouldn’t be discounted as a bumper fabricator.

My warthog base, stinger added to my specs bumper has been beat on and is still true.

Been hit by a Cherokee on the trails, smashed into a rock wall, pushed off of a tree, and this was all on the single tube in front of the lights. Not to mention high clearance everything, if your not afraid to cut. Reinforcements, trans cooler relocation tabs, etc. priced competitively and shipping was quick!

I'm not sure what's up with war-fab in this forum.
I found him on Tacoma world, turns out he's pretty local to me. Only an hour and a half away from my place here in Crested Butte
Like every other Fab company he is slammed right now. He put his prototype osprey bumper for sale at 550 bucks and I snatched it up. He's also finishing up some sliders for me and has a hitch skid too.
Ordering local just seems like a no-brainer. As expensive as shipping is.
And I love the way his products look.
You can tell he's passionate about his business, and like so many being busy has been a bit stressful for him.
Can't wait to post pictures of Karen's taco
With a new bumper and sliders.

There was a difference in opinions and he took the high road instead of arguing and debating the topic. Good on him.

We were getting pretty chatty about good stuff so I miss that lol

I’ll stand behind his bumper any day of the week.

I’ve got my eyes on his rock sliders. Between those and lil b’s. Either way I’m looking at $1500 in shipping and pc.
