Lying to spouse about cost of mods

Please be honest and hopefully this will remain anonymous. Just wondering if anybody does this and asking for a friend.

Anybody own one of these things? What is your current setup? What have you put on it? I just picked up a Tasco red dot for $30 and I need to test it out sooner than later

    Factory diff flush?

My buddy is an airplane mechanic and also said that I’m over thinking it. I still torque down everything that’s weight bearing, has a washer, or contains fluids.

    Factory diff flush?

Me too man, I googled it about 7 times just to make sure. Also had this diagram to give me definitive peace of mind.

    Factory diff flush?

Purchased: 4 quarts of 75w90 valvoline ($38), 2 crush washers ($5) To make this easier I just poured the bottles in until they were half empty and couldn’t pour anymore without squeezing. Then I combined the bottles to make one full bottle and continued with the process until the diff was full...

Where are all of my access cab guys!?!?

Here’s a random pic of a stock AC vs mine on the right with the old Bilstein 5100s set to 1.75. If anybody was curious on the difference.

    Wheel bearing assembly question

I run negative offset wheels. I plan on having to replace my wheel bearings at some point and see it easier to replace the whole assembly instead of taking it to a press. Question is: why are 4x4 assemblies cheaper than 4x2 assemblies?

    New Bilsteins

Insanely jealous of your setups..I told myself that after these 5100’s then I am defenitely done for a while. But now I really want new springs, uca’s, aal. Seems like the second I’m satisfied then I immediately want something else.

    New Bilsteins

Damn you did the whole thing that I eventually want to do! I have the old Bilstein part # for the second gens. Did you send them back bc the boot was warped?

Out of curiousity because I’m about to do this. How did you get the diff fluid into the diff without a pump?

    New Bilsteins

Just got my 5100s in the mail. I went with the old part #24-239370 bc of the 1.75 setting. Anyway I noticed one of the shocks already has rust on it. Any cause for concern? I’ve been waiting a while for these so really I don’t want to send them back if the concern is only cosmetic.

    Factory diff flush?

I plan on doing it soon I’m at 40 K miles. I went to Toyota and quoted the fill bolt and Magnetic drain bolt and special Toyota sauce differential oil for 60 or something. I’ll try to find a printout it sitting somewhere in my truck so for right now it’s 60 is just a ballpark estimate

    Painted brake calipers out there??

I’ll try to get some better pics with the wheel on afterwards. I used rust oleum red caliper paint.
