Just got my 5100s in the mail. I went with the old part #24-239370 bc of the 1.75 setting. Anyway I noticed one of the shocks already has rust on it. Any cause for concern? I’ve been waiting a while for these so really I don’t want to send them back if the concern is only cosmetic.

No concern a scotch pad or wire brush will clean it up
They usually cover with some oil prior to packaging to prevent surface rust

Damn you did the whole thing that I eventually want to do! I have the old Bilstein part # for the second gens. Did you send them back bc the boot was warped?
I didn’t send them back because I didn’t want to wait. I needed to install it ASAP because I was too excited. It’s on my truck looking twisted as hell and I can’t stand it. I guess I could try sending them photos and see what happens.

That surface rust is no big deal. Clean it off and let her rip. I got the 3rd gen 5100's and reused stock coils set up one clip just to level, but now I'm thinking OME 887's and Icon 1.5 AAL are soon to be in order!

Insanely jealous of your setups..I told myself that after these 5100’s then I am defenitely done for a while. But now I really want new springs, uca’s, aal. Seems like the second I’m satisfied then I immediately want something else.

bilsteins set at 1.75 pairs with original springs. Off to alignment tomorrow.
