• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Shocks or Regear?

IMO, ride quality will suffer with larger tires, especially with something like MTs. It may take a couple thousand miles for the tires to soften up, but what are your tire pressures set at? If they're high, you might consider lowering them so they cushion around bumps a little more. Yes, a high...

In that case, going up to 33s, it won't be a problem on a TRD Pro without any major modifications. What does your on-road/off-road driving look like? Are you like 50/50 or 60/40? I don't think you can go wrong with your suspension selection with the Kings. 3 leaf AAL or full leaf pack for OEM King 2.5 and other RR shocks

Yes. But it should be more of a guideline. The higher the weight rating, the more lift you will have with or without weight. Hello, I have a 2018 Tacoma, SR5. Quicksand.

4.88's or 5.29's for your Tacoma?

Just wanted to confirm which direction I need to go - I'm thinking 5.29s. I have skinny 33s (255/28/16) and I don't plan on getting anything larger than those with about 2.5" lift all around. As far as loads on the truck that are constant, they are the front steel bumper with a winch, bed rack...

Sure. Android system is obviously going to be the cheapest route, which I'm sure most people come across all the time. I'm just throwing out other options that some people may not come across. I'm mean, what's another $1600 for an OEM look to the build list anyway? 😆

Audio Android Auto/Apply Carplay Entune 2.0, 2017 Tacoma

actually, this is possible and I don't think it's terribly priced for an OEM style solution. You would essentially be swapping out the head unit + a harness. However, I do believe you will lose the compass feature, but you're going to use CarPlay/Android Auto anyway right? I had a buddy do it on...
