Tyler's #VanLife on 37s Four Wheel Camper Build & Tacoma3G.com Shenanigans

Idk if you’ll be familiar with this road, but last night this is where we stayed. It was nice and we woke up to a moist and lush (lol) rainforest. This road goes FOREVER so we might go back and just keep driving it for our next spot.
Nice! That hike to the falls got super popular during the pandemic due to the huge suspension bridge. I havn't made it up there yet.

As most of you know, I’ve been quiet on the forum for the last 2 weeks because I’ve been driving across the country. We left NY to spend the next 4 months in the PNW and other west-ish states. Here are some of my favorite photos from the 3,500 mile route we took from NY to OR.

We had never heard of Cabela's but were pleased to find out some of their stores allow overnight parking.

Penny peed on our bed because we forgot to let her out. The pee went through our "waterproof" mattress protector. Paige and the dogs slept on the floor while I slept on a small sliver of the bed that wasn't wet.

A big gimmick.

I thought this would look cool but nothing ever looks cool on camera. (Private property.)

Another spot we really enjoyed.

The driving position in these trucks is SO uncomfortable. On my lower back, especially.

No shower in 2 weeks and I love it.

Arriving at our destination to attend our first expo. Hood River, OR.

This view is insane!

Our first expo was a success.

How's this for dispersed camping?

awesome.. have you tried the desert seat jackers for your back yet? I just got some and it seems to be doing good on me. I haven't driven the truck to much lately though.

did you drive through MN and not stop here?

just got them for Moab and they made a world of difference.
I have not. Let me look these up real quick…

No, because of timing. I was actually planning to take the highlighted route below but we started wondering if we had the time to do it. We didn’t want to end up having to haul ass to make it to our event on time. I will 100% do this route on our way back to NY.

And did you not stop in Montana?
Not really. We stayed overnight in some woods directly off the interstate but that was our only stop in MT due to timing.

At Overland Expo PNW, we made it into a YouTube video by some folks with 112k subscribers. Maybe it’ll bring some new members to the forum. Our part starts around 9:36. Disclaimer: Talking on camera suuuucks.

Also, I made a cameo in a future @RevN3 video as well.
I've got to finish part three of my Central Oregon trip then I'm working on the overland video

I feel really guilty for not being on the forum as much as I thought I would be while living on the road, but this is somehow a surprisingly busy lifestyle? But I’ll be off the road in September/October, so not too much longer.

Anyway, here are some pictures from last night. Us and this group are on our way to Overland Expo Mtn this weekend.

This is a reminder to myself that I want to custom build a cheap cargo trailer as a shop/garage. Then I want to use it to build more of the same trailer for other people. This is a good idea, right?

Depends if there’s a market for it 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think it will be a build one and sell it on Craigslist type deal. But also, I have a new good idea everyday because my mind never stops racing when I’m trying to fall asleep at night. I kinda wear Paige out with all my next big ideas lol

Experiment Alert!

Picture this…. I’m driving to Walmart. My brain is suddenly in a fog of dread; I get that unnerving thought of, “did I latch the latches?!”—even though, of course I did. But, then!…

I see this little guy on the shelf in Walmart (not sponsored). Without much thought, I deposit my little mirror-on-a-loop, right into my shopping basket—because… [*see photos*]

Now, the test: the drive home.

Will I be able to see if my camper is fastened? Will the wind have an undesirable affect on the angle of the reflective surface? Will the sun blind me—or, albeit, less likely—start a fire?

Will debrief results after a few days of use.

My truck has been sitting on jack stands like this (flushed transmission without fluid — still want to flush like 5 more times to get it all) since November 25, 2022. That’s how bad I am at life. At least lately lol

Damn bro, just get it done already 😂 . I have to do this soon as well. Probably wait till spring to do a handful of refresh maintenance.
