• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

About 2 hours total. Only crappy part for me was fishing the RCA cable down from the back of the head unit to then run through the firewall. Otherwise, it's all easy and straight forward.
is there a tutorial out there that shows you how to take everything apart to do this?

Updated/flashed to the newest OVTune 2.0 Beta 5.29 specific file. This is currently a request only file for gathering feedback before the final release of OVTune 2.0 final.

Hoping to get some good drive time testing to review on Monday when I drive from San Diego to Mammoth. Lots of terrain and different drive conditions to review.

Nice! I’m trying to decide between 4.88’s or 5.29’s

For anyone reading this, if you have at all increased your tire size and are adding weight (tent, rack, bumpers etc.), Go straight to 5.29. The only time I would say 4.88s is if you plan to remain entirely stock, or maybe slightly larger tires (no bigger than 33's and everything else stock). 5.29's ftw. No regrets.

Even for daily driving? That good huh?

Sweet. Let us know if you notice a difference compared to the 4.88 one we’re running.

The wife did a little project yesterday and we reinstalled it today. This is half of the bed platform in my Vagabond Outdoors Drifter.

How it starts off...

Some nice felt style lining and quality sticky tape...

Then she reorganized our patch collection. National Parks, State Parks, truck related companies and brands, fire department stuff, and breweries we love.

And what it looks like when you look up in the camper once reinstalled...

It’s the little attention to detail that makes all the difference. This is awesome. @Paige is especially going to love it. Nice job.

This looks so good! We did a headliner on the Jeep a while back that was very similar to this. How do you guys apply non-Velcro patches?

We use a roll of stick on Velcro to cut and stick some pieces of the hook side of the Velcro to the back of the patch. Works pretty good.

That’s what I used for mine but I’ve noticed in hot weather some of them decide to fall off the Velcro. Could be the Velcro adhesive is crappy. I’ll try my luck with better Velcro for my next few patches.

Our first Long Island truck meet is in the books. There aren’t many people like us on the island, but the group we do have is definitely dedicated. We gladly froze our butts off to talk all things 4x4 (shorts not recommended). We were stoked to have plenty of interest about our transplanted California rig. Seen here, I’m giving a mini class on what it takes to fit 35s on these trucks.
