For sure. We’ve needed something like this but I never thought to do it.

I’m trying to think if there would be a video you could make that none of us can because your truck is brand new with no miles on it. But there might not be just based off of it being brand new.

That's a great idea. Maybe we can solicit some ideas from fellow members?

Tyler, feel free to move this stuff to a new thread if you want to keep this one clean with just the channel responses.

In my eyes, a new truck is a blank slate with a ton of video potential.

You can make a video for some of the smaller mods a lot of bigger accounts overlook or did before they started YouTube, such as the tacoma inserts, Meso interior items, etc.
In addition, you can do a video for any lift you may want to do. If you're mechanically savvy and can install yourself, an install video for suspension will do well.

If you want to keep your truck mostly stock but still want to make videos, any type of adventure video could do well and you could label it as "stock tacoma", which a lot of people search for on YouTube. "Stock Tacoma Off-Road", "Stock Tacoma Overlanding", "Stock Tacoma Gas Mileage", etc.

You could also do more YouTubey videos like the "5 things I love/hate about my new Tacoma". These videos, while kinda clickbaity and annoying to some, get a lot of views because many people seek out those types of videos before actually buying a Tacoma.

Really good ideas. Good job putting it that way.

Lot of good ideas here. I'm doing a full build from stock up.

Anyone getting $$ from YouTube? It's really on fire right now. I've been busy all summer and haven't posted much, but still it's double what it was in late winter. I'm going to get back on it now.

Also, we should add location for COLLABS!

Not even close to making money with it. Are you?

Like the idea with location. I’ll edit my post now to include that.

I know @Jesse Rizo is I'd assume with nearly 25k subs lol

I'm sitting at 935 right now so I'd expect to reach 1k by next month. Then I think the application process takes a few months.
So hoping to be able to monetize towards the beginning of next year.

However, I do get a decent chunk monthly from Amazon commission. I probably average around $30-40/mo
Last month was great I think I hit over $80 and this month so far I'm at like $45

Even when I am able to monetize, I think it's safe to say I'd make almost nothing compared to Amazon commissions lol

The Amazon links are so funny to me. You do literally nothing and then you have a chance to make a similar amount to what you said or even WAY more.

I have them here on the forum and while I'm not supposed to discuss it per their terms (which they are strict about), I know what you mean.

My amazon is way up too. From the videos and from my blog. I did not read the terms, so I can say what I want.

I sometimes to "full disclosure" to my audience so I'll say that my Amazon was about $90 this month, but it was over $100 last month and YouTube paid yesterday and It was $435. I gear my content towards long term relevance and long tail performance so I am not at the whim of timeliness. And that works well for someone who is so manic with posting as I've been in the last few years.

You guys may be in a different Amazon program. I know there's a couple.

The one I'm in, I actually have to specify in some capacity that I get a commission from the links. So in all my video descriptions with amazon links I add the hashtag #CommissionsEarned per their guidance.

Yeah, mine has pretty strict rules about it. Disclaimers need to be on the bottom of the website and I can't be encouraging the use of the links.

How do you get a amazon commission?

How do you get a amazon commission?
You have to apply for the Amazon Assoicates program. I think you need at least 1k on an account (I had 2k on Instagram)

Once accepted, you can create links with you code in them. When someone clicks on one of your links, you'll get commission for anything they buy within the next 24 hours.

You can do an Amazon Affiliate account. This allows you to create links and doesn't have hurdles, like follower criteria. This is what I have.

To do the Amazon Influencer account, you need to have a certain amount of subs on YouTube, followers on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook. I know this since my YouTube account quickly got declined as not good enough.
