What's up Tacoma3G Community! I'm James originally from Southern California, but now I’m located in the Pacific North West just south of Seattle. I picked up this taco to expand on outdoor activities like Camping, Snowboarding, and Off-Roading. Theres a ton of great trails out here that my taco now allows me to go!

My thought behind my build is to approach it knowing the activities I plan on doing most while making modifications that impact performance in those areas. Below you'll find a list of my mods and I will keep it updated as I go.

Just picked up the @Mountainhatch flat tailgate/cutting board replacement for the taco. So far, so good. I'm digging the flat surface for sitting, cooking, additional table space for tailgating and what not. I did notice up in the Big Bear Mountain Resort parking lot where the ground surface is at a slope, your beverages will slide if your vehicle is not level. I ended up using a small rubber mat to prevent that. Otherwise this is a great investment that will get tons of use. Here's some photos of my Mountain Hatch:

I really like that tailgate replacement piece. Nice truck!

Welcome! awesome looking build so far man keep it up!

I replaced my tailgate with the Mountain Hatch and absolutely love it! makes cleaning fish and prepping meals so much better.

@brocaflocka Thanks man! It's the OEM Tacoma roof rack. My buddy order it online, I believe amazon and he ended up selling them to me. I think they were used and had some minor wear. My buddy didn't like that, so he gave me a deal and he bought new OEM ones. You can probably get them from the dealer because they are OEM, But they will cost a lot more than buying online.

How was the install?

How was the install?

The install for the OEM Roof Rack was super simple. Peeled off the rubber stripping on the roof which exposed pre-drilled threaded holes which are covered by a thin layer of paint. I punched through the holes and installed the mounts, then it's a matter of lining the rack up to the mounts and tightening the bolts up. Hardest part was getting everything properly aligned. I found some good install videos on youtube which helped. It's only rated for 100lbs. Incase you were wondering.

Nice truck! Looking at the same tire setup.. Any rubbing on those 285s?

I barley get any rubbing. If I go over a big bump while turning, I sometimes get a light rub. The shop that installed the setup did trim the plastic fender flares to prevent rubbing and they offered to install body mount chops if it became a problem down the road, but like i said barely any rubbing to the point where it does not bother me.

I love my @Mountainhatch . I hear you on the sloped angles, but even considering that it makes the tailgate so much more versatile imo.

I totally agree. The mountain hatch makes the tailgate so much more versatile. Love it. I just saw they are going to be announcing new colors, textures, and cup holes cut outs this week. Stoked to see what they come out with!

How much lift did you have to put on the front to level it, and is there any lift on the rear?

Hi James Romp-A-Taco, I didn't make a build page, I just started building with out documenting, I am looking in adding the Icon front shocks with 700lbs coils , after adding bumper and winch the front dropped a little, maybe because I add a huge winch that I win in a raffle on an Off road event in Ocotillo wells, later will be 4:88 gears, hope top see you in the road
