Jfrisch’s Red Taco build

Well, I finally got tired of the stank. Yanked the driver seat and pulled up the carpet and padding. Water only made it about 12” into the drivers side.

I cut the pad out so so didn’t have to pull the entire interior out to clean it.

Little carpet cleaner, vacuuming and air drying and it should smell a whole lot better.

If this happens to you, I’d recommend doing this way earlier than I did. I don’t daily my truck so it wasn’t so bad for me but whoooo. When I did, it was knarly.

I've found that an ozone purifier works well to clear up the last bit of stink that's still there. They aren't too expensive, maybe $100 or so, and will eliminate that wet locker smell quite well.

Im looking for one local but it looks like I’ll have to buy online. Definitely want to do one.

I just got done removing the whole interior and washing it out, I had water up to my knees and the carpet had a nice 1" layer of mud... I removed all of the intsulation under the carpet and replaced it with some waterproof stuff i found on amazon.

Of course I did leave a day early from my trip to eliminate any possibilities of smell or mold.

Yup you got me beat. But regardless still a chore and I’m sure the stank is about the same lol. If it would have been that bad on mine I would have ripped it all out.

Yours all good, smelly good again?
 
Never smelled, Didnt have time to dry, I washed everything out, let it sit in the florida heat for 3 days, vacumed all the dirt and sand out then whiped the whole thing down with fresh lime clorox wipes.
 
well mine never dried, it was the damp/ mud/ stank. I think if mine would have dried it wouldn’t have stank.

Alls I know is I can’t stand that smell and I’m glad it’s finally taken care of lol

And now you have the perfect opportunity to lay down some noise dampening! That or dish the carpet and do bedliner or something.
 
I sank a truck like you did several years back, in the winter , I fried a computer board that used to be stashed under the front seat. and I ripped all of the carpet out as well. its hard to get out once it is in..

mine wasn’t terrible but I hate mud and water , rather be on the rocks, mainly for that reason. Mud gets everywhere and water just isn’t good on these trucks with all the electronics. I’d rather fix a broken cv or something, than fix electrical issues

Man I feel that though. I was rolling along for a while, excited I had 2-3-4 hundred then I saw people with crap content or stuff that was so cringe, start flying up the charts. Gave me a bit of realization that I was just gonna put videos out for myself not for anyone else. If they like it, cool, if not, cool.

If that makes sense. Keep on trucking dude 💪

Yeah, I'm making the videos for myself and my friends enjoy them as well...but outside validation is also nice :)

no doubt there. I appreciate the ones who actually watch and enjoy/ comment. Better than a troll I first encountered on there. Literally would dislike every video and comment stupid things on the videos lol
