• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Hobbies besides Tacos...

All my hobbies slowly vanished as I had kids. haha. Now I just focus on putting them on the right path, spend money on them, yell at them for fucking my stuff up, and try to teach them to take care of their own shit. My dad was a hard ass, a Marine, and always told my brothers and I, "kids and...

MBRP catback exhaust installed and tested

Dude, I call total bullshit on that review. Lol I (almost) never go back on my word but, I am on this one. I drove around with the wife and kids for awhile after my last post, with windows down, and now we all agree it has to come off. The honeymoon is over. Not saying the MBRP is a bad set...

MBRP catback exhaust installed and tested

I really think it’s just the shock from going from a super quiet to a pronounced exhaust note. It’s 100 degrees here, so I’ve driven with the windows up and down. Windows up isn’t bad. Cruising at 55-60, you don’t even really notice it, which really surprised me. My kids and wife say it...

MBRP catback exhaust installed and tested

My MBRP will be arriving tomorrow. I decided to take a chance after seeing @Rob Daman 's video (as well as other on youtube). I searched for a TRD Pro exhaust but, just didn't feel like spending all that extra money. lol.... I wish I could hear a Black Widow exhaust setup in person.

Got my TRD Pro wheels (16”) installed. Also received my Faux Pro grille from eBay. I blacked out the gray letters and it looks awesome. I bought the TRD Pro TSS cable for the radar (it’s longer) for $20 and the garnish, which is definitely the most expensive piece of plastic I’ve bought.

    Advice for a newbie

I’m new to the 4x4 club also. My first “real” mod is going to be suspension. Tires & wheels don’t count (my wife fell for it!)

    TRD Pro Fox Kit

thanks for the comments @mZiggy and @Rob Daman I did take into consideration that this is not a "lift" upgrade (which I'm actually ok with). At this time I'm looking for a better ride (body roll, dipping, etc). Of course I'd try to get them cheaper!

    TRD Pro Fox Kit

I have the opportunity to buy a take off TRD Pro Fox suspension kit (front and rear). What's a good price for these? I see the seller started at $2100, now down to $1800. Looks like they are close to $3k new. Also, these are claimed to have only ~1k miles on them. Is someone gonna nudge...

    Leveling kit????

I've been doing a lot of research on this lately as well. Tyler posted some good info in another thread that I remember reading: https://tacoma3g.com/threads/5100-bilsteins-to-level-front-anyone.120/post-876 "You can get upper control arms but you don’t have to. The shocks, coils, and...

Larger tires and/or lifted, but on STOCK WHEELS

Thanks for the info Tyler! Is there anything you don't like about your set up (other than the lean I read about)? I'm asking because I realize people get lifts for different reasons. I'd personally like something to give me a little more ground clearance, looks good aesthetically, and most...

    Colorful Colorado

That’s good to know, I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. I’m going to be contacting them to get help/suggestions when I’m ready to do a lift. Thanks for commenting!

    Tutorial Tacoma Tailgate Letter Insert

Just thought I'd post my experience with these tailgate insert letters. Don't go cheap and get the variant that is about 50% less, I tried them and they suck!!! I returned them. I picked these up off Amazon for $40 and they are well worth the extra money. They're like a hard plastic instead...

Larger tires and/or lifted, but on STOCK WHEELS

Looks great, I'm a fan also. I had planned on doing exactly this, since I got some 16" TRD Pro wheels for cheap. Can you tell me more about your Bilstein/OME lift?

    Colorful Colorado

Hey Colorado people! I'm up in Longmont, have lived in CO my whole life and admittedly don't know of any trails (thanks Aurora) but, will be on the lookout this summer! My barber had his Tacoma overhauled by this shop in Lakewood - do you all have any experience with them or know of them...

Thanks Rob. I’ve watched many of your videos (entertaining and informative!). I plan on taking my time and doing as much research as possible instead of doing what I’ve done in the past, which is just start throwing money at it! Ha

Hey everyone, I acquired a 2018 TRD OR DCSB on 5/11. It’s my first Toyota and also my first Truck, even though I’ve lived in CO my whole life. I’m excited to LEARN from you all and eventually contribute to threads. So far all I’ve done is get some TRD Pro Wheels. I plan on taking things slow as...
