This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.
When just swapping that shock you don't have to touch the UCA. You can drop the entire assembly out just from unbolting the lower bolt and the 3 nuts up top.Tacoma's have shocks on all 4 corners (no struts), but if you can find a complete replacement coilover assembly it is not difficult to change out. Very straight forward. Worst part is the UCA will have to be unbolted from the knuckle, but in my experience, they separate easily on these trucks.
But that dude unhooks the LCA lol. IMO that's the harder one to do.When just swapping that shock you don't have to touch the UCA. You can drop the entire assembly out just from unbolting the lower bolt and the 3 nuts up top.
