• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. 2024 Tacoma Revealed! Here's Everything About It.

You guys can ignore this - it was posted automatically by something I'm testing.

Can’t unsee that, it looks like a Tacoma and a Honda Ridgeline got down and dirty together.

Here's what the 4th generation Toyota Tacoma should look like in production form.

The 4th generation Toyota Tacoma pickup truck is expected to release by late 2023 as a 2024+ model year vehicle. An official on-sale date has not be announced yet but reservations should open by early 2023.

The new generation Tacoma pickup truck due in 2024 will arrive with an all-electric variant alongside internal combustion engine versions. It was confirmed by a tier 1 supplier for Toyota but was expected all along for the 4th gen, especially after the automaker showed off a Tacoma BEV concept months ago.

As far as design goes, the electric Tacoma should share most of its exterior design with the ICE models but come with a closed off grille and some more subtle design changes. The interior shouldn't be much different either on the surface, other than maybe a bigger infotainment screen.

Not sure how I feel about this... I mean ._. Well- The third brake light looks like Toyota is copying GM's new Chevy's and GMC's soo.. Not a big fan of the grille's either, or headlights... or tail lights.. Idk. Looks a lot like a newer Tundra but smaller.

Thoughts on this anyone else? I wanna see what other people say :)

Not a big fan. I believe toyota hired a GM designer to "americanise" the trucks, theres alot of similar points between the new tundra and a GMC sierra.
Im guessing toyota is keeping a similar design for all the suvs and trucks

That truck got a fat ass.

I think I like it…if I get rid of this truck it will be to go back to VW/Audi, so my opinion probably doesn’t matter.

Hoping they make some real improvements before its release. Toyota has been pretty on point with most of their designs over the past decade, but this would be a disappointment. However, I still hold hope for the best!

Big pass... I'll move to the new 4runner or bronco or something else before I bought that body style Tacoma, that's a big disappointment if that's an accurate rendering
You could also go with the current gen Nissan Frontier since it looks 99% like a gen3 Taco and they'll be making it for 20 years because Nissan.

I think I'd buy a diesel Colorado/Canyon before I picked up the new yota. Local guy had a super nice one for sale recently and it looked pretty rowdy.

Tbh, I don't like the Colorado or Canyon's.. I've seen some decent builds on them just, eh. I'd go big or go home at that point and get a Denali 2500 HD at that point

But why do the bed sides need to come down so far around the wheels?? Those are getting chopped off by anyone who needs to use that truck.

Right! Also if you wanna get bigger tires for it then you gonna have to do some trimming to the fenders

If they drop the 3.5L turbo into it that I've got in my LX600, I'll buy one. Any engine/tranny improvement over the current 3.5v6 would be welcome.

I went from a 2020 Power Wagon to this. If the circumstances would have stayed the way they were. When I took delivery of my PowerWagon. I would still have it. I loved that Truck. But I learned to love this one. "Different Trucks, Different qualities"
I had a white 1998 SR5 V6 5spd. ext. Cab 4X4 years ago. So I knew what I was getting. When I chose to go with another Tacoma. IMHO: They're the toughest most dependable Small Truck out there. And, I was still able to get mine with a Stick.:D

For good or Bad. These Trucks were Americanized as soon as they put the 1st. Tacoma Name Plate on their 1st. Truck.. While North America Drives Tacoma's . The Rest of the World Still Drives the Hi Lux. My 1st. Gen was built in Fremont California. This one in Mexico. Some others in Texas.
The Hi Lux has been built in Thailand, Japan, Hanover Germany. And while they did a lot of R&D in Australia. I can't find any Info. on them ever being produced there ?:)

IMO: The Stick is a huge help. I know a lot of people don't like them. They're not for everybody. And it still doesn't take care of the Fundamental Problem. This V6 suffers from. All of the Torque is too high up in the RPM Range. Great for Sports Cars, Sucks for Trucks. I wish we could do a Cam Swap in these, like we could in the Big 3 V8's. The Right Cam. Is all it would take.
And a Turbo would be Nice .👍

Totally agree. Pondering a supercharger in the future. Going to get out of warranty first...or maybe just upgrade to a 4th gen after a bit.

That being said, this truck is taking the beating I regularly dish out, and 5000 miles to Montana and back never gave me any significant trouble. My Jeep's overall package and experience was better, but I was at the dealership every. 3. Months. Grateful for the reliability.
