This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Cost cutting probly trying to save some money after making "safety sense" mandatory in all models, I'll bet they cut out a few other things here and there as well

You can always buy the cubby and make a hole for it

That's just bizarre. They've had those cubbies going back forever. Ah well, I bet there will be some really interesting aftermarket solutions in the near future.

It is bizarre , I also heard dont qoute me but some of the 2019 only have drivers window auto up down , and passenger is now manual

Anyone in Escondido CA know of any good trails? I've had my truck for 7 months and this is my first 4x4.

If you got a day to go have some fun, head east up into Julian and drop off the backside into Anza Borrego. Amazing wide open areas to explore out there.

I purchased my 2019 with a 6" pro comp lift; will a TRD skid plate or after market skid plate work with the lift? I hate how everything is exposed in the front.

Most of the time not they wont you would most likely have to call procomp or check if they have a skid plate

short Answer, No they will not.

Victory is your only chance . They are running a 6in lift and rocking full armor. Check out the vendor section.

Does anyone else have an issue with their key fob disengaging from the key part? My keys are usually hanging off my belt loop and a few times I've felt the fob fall. If anyone has the AJT key fob, will that remedy this problem?

How do I know which bushing to get never done much with wheeling and lifts. Do I get the 7.5 clamshell bushing?

Can anyone tell me for sure what this bolted on piece is for? Looks like it would be for towing but it isn't big enough to get anything through... If it is for towing, anyone have a good suggestion for a bolt in replacement?
Thanks

It's a tow hook and for a replacement you can use this

So, I'd love to get some feedback...

So my goals with my truck are to do some very minor off roading, fire roads, light mud trails - nothing crazy. Right now I live in Connecticut and suspension and tires are stock. I had a 06 Chevy 1500 with some Wranglers on it and had 0 problems in snow in 2wd but man, any little bit of snow and I need 4wd or else I'm fucked.

With that being said, I've been considering upgrading rims and tires but I'm not sure if I should just wait and save up to do rims / tires / lift...the problem is, I have no idea when I'm going to be able to snag up the lift.

Should I pull the trigger and get the rims and tires? I'd like to go with the 4runner TRD pro rims in black, what would be the largest tires with stock suspension?

Stock suspension?
Yes, stock suspension, stock 16" rims. Through the research I did, my tires are the biggest/widest I could get with stock everything. Down here in FL we have nothing but water and mud. The MT have drastically improved my offroad capabilities. Keep an eye out for deals on tires. 4 wheel Parts had a $200 off on the tires so I jumped. Just a note on the Mickey's, they are super soft rubber, which is great for crawling but on road you really have to watch their wear.

After wheeling through DEEP water, what fluids, parts do I need to be checking for water and water damage? E.g. differencial fluids, trans fluid, any air in takes besides the main one?
Thanks...

diffs is the main one bud

Alright so... Is anyone running a Rough Country 4in Lift? What would be the pros and cons of running a system like this Rough Country Kit rather then say a OME kit. In addition, how can they price their 6in kit the same as their 4in kit?

I'm considering the RC kit for a few factors, cost first and foremost. Secondly, I don't think I'll be doing much "hardcore" off roading.

I did not have this issue with the OEM fob, but I did with the AJT fob, and it is maddening. I think the spring was supposed to be either included or used from the other fob. I use that as a back up now rather than an everyday key, as I have the lexus key card programmed to my truck. I'm willing to bet the retainer spring inside your OEM key fob is missing, thus causing the key lock in the fob to let go and release the fob from the key......
