What's Your Suspension?

Front is a 6" BDS lift with Fox 2.5 coilovers. Rear is a BDS add-a-leaf combined with a 3" block to help deal with the weight of the RTT and gear, or towing the camper. I've been very happy with the lift thus far (y)

Added ICON S2 Secondary Shock System - Stage 3 up front installed by @SDHQ OFFROAD.

Also, a few weeks ago, we finally got my ICON bump stops installed and swapped out the 3rd leaf on my ICON RXT leaf pack thanks to @JerryTaco2.0 and @ShankedT4R. We also did the Archive Garage U-bolt flip with ICON striker plates while we were in there.

i am so jealous of this setup.....

Do your Dakar leaf springs squeak like crazy when they get wet/dirty?

Oooooh yeah. I just had to lube them up yesterday. I've read a few things online regarding an ARB specific TSB on how to address the squeaks but I have yet to fully do the recommendations. Soon enough I'll get to it.

What exactly do you mean by ARB specific? It’s what they reccomend for their product but you plan to apply it to the Dakars because it’s the same concept?

ARB owns Old Man Emu. So the TSB came from ARB and is for the OME Dakars. I have it on my tablet, I'll see if I can post it here later.

Hi everybody! New to the page! Came across this thread and thought I’d share my rig :giggle:

-MethodRaceWheels NV 305 17x8.5

The last picture is how my rig currently looks, I removed the plastidip from my fenders due to someone clipping and stripping the dip off one of my fenders

thinking of going with this kit, would you happen to have your hub to fender measurements? also how much did you set the coilovers?

Icon ext travel 2.5” coilovers with ext. resivior and CDC valve ADJ. and my stock fox 2.5” piggyback res. With OME Dakar HD pack

Bilstein 5100 front and rear

Great lookin' setup. Curious what made you go with the HD Dakar leafs? I'm looking at the same setup you have on Headstrong Off-Road. It looks like OME suggests getting the HD leafs if you're constantly running up to 660 extra pounds back there. I'm curious if the HD leafs change your suspension to a tougher ride enough because I'm also considering getting the HD's since I have a camper and sometimes haul loads upwards of 1000+ pounds which is close to pushing the max payload rating.

I'm also about to replace my front bumper with CBI's full grille protection (once it finally ships) and weld on some additional horizontal bars for added protection; lots of deer here in Colorado! So I was looking at getting the 886 springs on the shocks for the 660lbs spring rate (bumper is about 140lbs). Doesn't look like those springs are an option on the dropdown menu they have, but I'll ask anyway. Will probably also do the second-to-last setting on the shocks like you have for the maximum lift.

Being primarily a weekend warrior + hunting/fishing frequently, I think this suspension setup will be perfect for me and will give me every capability I need without anything extra I don't need.

Lastly, haven't looked too much into fixing the lean yet for the driver's side. Any suggestions on how to negate that? Thanks!

I found a kit for under 1500 that offers 3" of lift...but no AAL... it's a joke right? Like... there's no sense on buying it.

I am thinking of getting the Headstrong Offroad package of Billstein 5100s all around with OME 888 coils and single AAL for the rear. I want to add lights racing upper control arms so i can eliminate any alignment issues.

I have a 2017 TRD sport double cab. I dont do any offroading right now. Just a daily driver. When i had my 2012, i put on the ReadyLift 3"sst kit and it was a rough ride. I am looking to spend a little more money and get something better.

So my question is will i be able to fit the tire/wheel size combo im looking to get???
I want 285/65/18s.
Looking to get Fuel 18" (-12 offset) wheels on toyo open country all terrains

Should be good with that setup what's the backspaceing on the rims?

Current Suspension setup:
King 2.5 EXT w/ Compression Adj. - 700lb spring
King 2.0 Compact bumpstops
Deaver U402 Stage 3 Leaf Springs
Kartek Limit straps (rear limit straps have since been moved compared to photo)
All the gussets (Coil bucket, spindle, marlin crawler LCA gussets)
Boxed rear frame
Ruffstuff Axle truss

Future:
Engine crossbrace being developed right now in junction with secondary bypass mounts
8" 2.5 King 3-tube secondaries up front soon, should handle the weight a lot better than with just the coilover on the dunes
For the rear Im excited to be updating to 2.5 King 12" 3-tube shocks hopefully in the spring.
...more gussets
Weld sliders to frame
Need to reinforce the radiator core support since that seems to be a weak point, tore the sheet metal on both sides where the fenders are held.
