I am sure I will get the VF Tuner when it releases tomorrow. Just curious if it'll actually improve my gas mileage. Suddenly I'm averaging anywhere between 12-15mpg because it's been windy as crap (and I added some weight in mods). I have not had it regeared yet...which I plan on when I have the money.I do. I won't tell you there's any real mpg improvement. Maybe a little depending on your driving style , but nothing crazy. That said the truck sure feels a hell of a lot better.
I am far from tech savvy but everything the OV Tune sounded like it would correct a lot of issues I am having with my 2018.
I know it is no longer available and now there is the VF tuner. Is the VF plug and play where there are tunes to download or do you have to create your own.

I went ahead and bought the VF tune software. It will be interesting to see what other features we can tweak. I'm not that interested in creating tunes but like the ability to increase alternator output for AGM batteries and the potential to look at some other ECU aspects like locker or fog any time mods.
As far as cables I don't know but according to the thread OVT is coming out with their own hardware later this year.
Iv read a bunch of speculation but haven't heard about them being confirmed. Honestly I'm probably going to have to wait for somebody else to figure it out and wait for them to post instructions lol.
Gears and tires?2.0 final files have been released.

Thinking of throwing 37s on after cutting fenders, big brake upgrade and steering components upgrades as well!I can’t wait to see how it is. 35s and 5.29 tune. I imagine that will be a big upgrade.
Even though I’ve done this multiple times, I always find his upgrade instructions to be a bit confusing.
Hell yeah! I also want to but I’m going to wait until after road life.Thinking of throwing 37s on after cutting fenders, big brake upgrade and steering components upgrades as well!
2.0 kinda sorta final release? No gear lock or map switching?

I only search and read what OVT post since that thread is pretty much garbage. Last thing he said was gear lock would be an option to disable and I'v e never read anything about getting rid of map switching or getting rid of ECT function all together. With this "final" version all the ECT button does is turn the dash light on. I bought the VF but am just a lazy ass and dont want to have to figure it out lol.The files for tunes specific to different gears and tire combos are in the link provided above. I run the 91 5.29 31-33" tune personally.
It's final. Pretty sure he has stated if you want those features you'll have to get the VFTuner software and add them yourselves. I may be wrong.

OVtune will be adding gear locking and Map switching when he finish's updating flash manager. He just wanted to get some part of 2.0 out to keep all the complainers happy ! He was getting over whelmed with emails asking when 2.0 final will release. So it was wasting alot of his development time. Its coming
I have over 90 miles on 2.0 Final 91+4.88+THX + 33's . My actual tire size are 34" Cooper maxx. I normally run gear lock and miss it almost immediately. I think my truck runs best on gear lock. I will be going back to gear lock when flash manager is updated with all the FINAL tune options of 2.0 final. The version i am running now is great no more quick 3-4 shift and highway shifting is dramatically improved , but i still want gear lock i like controlling this transmission not the transmission controlling me!
When you guys talk about the stumble issue, what is that in reference to exactly? I think I have that issue but I’m not sure what you all mean.Stumble issue is gone! 2.0 is really good but with how heavy some of our trucks are gear lock just really makes the truck perform better then any previous tune!
Ah, I have something very different. Mine has no issue with starting. If you have a push button start. When you push to start it it has what is best described as a stumble , it has a longer starter engagement sounds and feels wrong! Not a normal engage and start. Dont know how else to describe it!
