Solid advice….What do you want to do with your Tacoma? I would recommend you put together a personal use case and that will help people give you recommendations.
My personal use case is I need my truck for commuting and outdoor fun. I plan on using it for light to medium off-roading but nothing too difficult. I also sometimes travel to snowy areas. So, for me an all terrain or rugged terrain with a three peak mountain rating fits my needs best. I am planning my next set of tires to be 265/75/16 Micky Thompson Baja Boss AT.
That may or may not be a good choice for you. It all depends on what you want to do with your Tacoma.
I’m glad that you recommend Cooper. I read the Toyota does not care for Cooper. Why.?These would be my recommendations for your use case:
1. Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT - Depending on your definition of ruggedness this might not fit the bill. However, I think this one is the best fit for your overall use case.
2. BFGOODRICH KO3 all-terrain - If you are looking for something a little more rugged looking would also be a good choice.
3. Micky Thompson Baja Boss AT.- If the rugged look is really important to you and you are willing to compromise on road handling and noise a bit.
I hope my recommendations help. I would defiantly look at tire reviews and think about what might fit your needs best. there are a lot of great tires for our trucks. It all depends on what fits your needs the best.
I have never seen anything suggesting that Toyota dislikes Cooper. That is news to me. I have never had an issue with a Cooper tire.I’m glad that you recommend Cooper. I read the Toyota does not care for Cooper. Why.?
