Hello,

I am a new member. I have been a member of Tacoma World since I purchased this rig back in Memorial Day weekend 2021. Since then I have made some modifications (TRD Pro Grille, Raptor Lights, Vinyl Stickers, etc.). I love this truck and plan on modding it further. I am hoping to use this forum to increase my knowledge of the 3rd Gen Tacoma and also be a part of the community. Thanks for having me!

1) Gator FX tonneau cover
2) 3” lift
3) at least 32” tires and 17” wheels
4) rock sliders
5) ditch lights

There will be more but I think this is a good start.

Well the cover leaks pretty bad and after inspecting it I'm seeing pretty good gaps at the bulkhead, tailgate and ac couple spots on the side where the seal just doesn't seal all the way.

Are there any recommendations for tailgate seals and other foam for sealing this cover more?

Here is a photo of the gaps I am seeing near the bulkhead on the driver and passenger side. Its quite a big gap as I can fit a finger through it. Anyone else run into this and what was the fix?

The previous owner of my truck had the cover installed by the dealer I think. There are a couple obscenely expensive bits that go in there. Honestly, if I needed to fill that I'd just use some silicone. I'll track down the part number...

Edit: It looks like people are ordering these (left & right):

Took the truck to southern california this last week and in the way home we hit heavy blizzard conditions over Siskiyou pass. This was my first time in the snow and the truck handled it like a champ!

You may want to add bed stiffeners and because of the longer bed (6 ft). You may want to consider installing a trailer hitch skid plate…I did for my 2019 TRD Off-road ,

Are those the in channel ones? I've been eyeing the in channel AVS ones.
Yes, these are the in channel low profile window deflectors in matte black. I think my only complaint is that you do lose some visibility but it isnt too bad. I think I would prefer the smoked so that you can see through it a bit but it still looks cool!

I was able to install my blue sea fuse panel and knukoncepts battery terminals the other day.

I am now researching switches and accessories for the rig. During this research I hear a mention of requiring relays, especially for lighting accessories. I wasn’t aware of the need for relays. I had just assumed my accessories and switches would go to the fuse panel. Obviously I am not an electrician or have any experience with that.

My question now I guess is, do I need a special relay panel like the blue sea fuse box or do most accessories come with relays for that purpose?

I plan to install the OEM style switches from Tacoma Lifestyle. A switch illumination harness, daisy chain harnesses and the oem style switch panel from TacomaBeast.

Is there anyone that can help explain how this is all supposed to be wired up? Is there anything I am missing?
