Magnetic Gray
Recently picked up an M101A2 military trailer. I'll be building an overland camping trailer, this way I can keep stuff out of the truck and lighten the load. Also it will be easier for me to keep all the camping gear consolidated in the trailer.

The day I brought it home:

First order of business was to get rid of the wood, and remove the tired surge brake system. I had a local welder install a receiver hitch so I can swap out between a pintle hitch lunette ring, and the max coupler I have on order.

Next on the list was prepping the bed for the Raptorliner spray on bed liner. I will say the kit was super easy to use and just over a $100 bucks on amazon. It came with a spray gun, the mixture and the hardener, all you need is compressed air. I wire wheeled, sanded and primed the bed, I also did a test spray of Rustoleum soft iron metallic, I feel it matches Magnetic gray pretty decent.

Next was the exterior of the tub, I bought 9 cans of the soft iron metallic, which sprayed 4 coats. Then i hit it with a coat of rustoleum clear hammered, hopefully the hammered with hide the imperfections under the paint. still need to do one more coat of the clear hammered.

I still need to wire wheel the frame, and hit it with some a couple coats of black.

Outstanding job.

This is such a rad build. Has this trailer been in Stuart Mesa? If not, there's literally another M101 attached to a 3rd gen in the neighborhood here.

yea thats mine, staying with a buddy for the time being

Next I started on some cross bars to mount the tent. I used a 1.25" galvanized pipe, welded to some angle iron, and bolted that straight to the bed rails of the trailer.

Bought some 8 lug to 6 lug wheel adapters, and picked up some matching rims and tires for the trailer.
