• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

hellopuppie's 2018 Grey Guthe Trail Limo TRD Off-Road DCLB 4x4 Build and BS

Candadians be damned, this is starting to look familiar. I wonder if they'll allow a Ford owner to join in? Hello Hellpy Helperton!
Lol, what's up man? I'm hoping this place isn't full of thin skinned retards! I vote they let the one Ford owner in, only cuz Canadian!

3/25/2018 - I'm finally back from Europe and my @Pelfreybilt skids showed up at SDHQ while I was gone. So, I picked them up on Friday and stopped by @JerryTaco2.0's place on my way home for a quick install. Thanks Brah!!

3/26/2018 - So stoked to get my BHLM done!! Operation "Delete Chrome" is complete!! Makes such a huge difference for the look of the front end.

Thanks for the awesome job and install, Jason!! Great to meet you man!!

I don't know why it's so hard to get a good picture of the headlights but they look bad-ass in person!! Too many shineies!

4/13/2018 - Forgot to take more pictures, but had my 700# springs installed on Friday afternoon thanks to @JerryTaco2.0 and SDHQ for the super quick turnaround. Such a huge improvement over the 650#s! I think the whole process took about 1.5 hours from start to finish including the drive to and from SDHQ where they swapped the springs.

4/23/2018 - I did a thing. I modified my SDHQ universal chase light mount to fit my Tacoma! Took roughly 20 minutes total from start to finish. Now it's ready for paint, although I may do some more paint prep because of my OCD!

Ready to chop:

Chopped and filed rough: (don't worry, that's not my drilling mark)

Edges smoothed out, drilled and a rough sanding:

Done!

5/21/2018 - Haven't done much lately so parts are starting to stack up in the dining room, but I did do this over the weekend. Took about 5 minutes. @MMoreno16

Hopefully going to get my Switch-Pros, chase light and ditch lights wired up at @JerryTaco2.0's house on Friday! Then next Tuesday, I drop my truck off at SDHQ for a week to have them R&D and build their first set of long bed sliders.

And where are my damn license plates?!

5/25/2018 - Things happened today! Finally getting back on track a little with my truck! Had a great night hanging out with @JerryTaco2.0 and @ShankedT4R. It all came out super clean and I can't thank you guys enough for the sweet-ass professional wiring job on my Switch-Pros along with the Baja Designs Squadron Sport chase light and Baja Designs Squadron Pro ditch lights. Also installed the SDHQ Switch-Pros under-hood and in-cab mounting plates, SDHQ A-pillar mounts and the SDHQ universal chase light bracket (that I modified all by myself, lol) look awesome! @MMoreno16 was there in spirit as well on Google Hangouts. Lol. More pictures in daylight to come but enjoy these for now.

5/29/2018 - Bye for now "Cupcake," you're getting sliders! Thanks to SDHQ for using my truck to prototype their first set of "Double Cab Long Bed Tacoma" sliders for my trail limo!

5/29/2018 - My rental car while SDHQ does their thing! Now I know how @MMoreno16 feels on his commute to work... lol. Fuckin' Toyota Corolla. I'm about to go get the windows tinted so nobody sees me in it!

First mod on the rental, done!!

6/2/2018 - In other news, I went to SDHQ yesterday to pick up @MMoreno16's shit ton of parts, said a quick hello to my truck and saw the prototype sliders they're building for me! I must say, I don't believe I've ever seen the level of quality and attention to detail... ever! They're coming along nicely and the welds are damn near as perfect as I've ever seen! I am super impressed and can't wait to see these things on my truck!

The end caps on those sliders look like cupcakes, you totally need to put icing and sprinkles on them.

6/11/2018 - Got a chance Friday to stop by SDHQ to check out the progress on my sliders and see the test fitting!! These things are gonna be fuckin awesome!! Also got my truck back on Saturday so I am no longer driving that damn Corolla!! SDHQ just has a few things to button up on the sliders and then send them out for powder coating. I expect they'll be done later this week or early next week for install! So excited to see the final product on my truck!!

Before I returned the Corolla, I took the SDHQ sticker off the back window and thanks to @JTS2016TACO, it now has a more subtle addition that they probably won't even notice.

So did those sliders get wrapped up yet?
Hey man, they just got back from powder coat today and tomorrow they're putting the SDHQ badging on them. I'm set up to have them installed next Wednesday and Thursday. I suspect they need it for two days to take pictures and write up the installation instructions for when they go into production. So stoked! I can't wait to see them on!

Those are the first sliders I’ve ever seen with nothing in the middle. Interesting.

It’s about time! Now when do the bypasses get installed?

I’m pretty sure they’ve placed something in there since the pic. I think that was one of the initial mock-ups

Yeah this was just the test fitting while they were building them. I have pictures of them completed in raw metal that I'll have posted here soon!

Hey @Tyler! Thanks man! It's a work in progress. (y) I'm in the process of moving as much of my build to this website from another Tacoma forum. Did you start this forum?
I did start this forum. Glad to see you’re digging it.

That’s what I figured. Phew.

Awesome dude! It's nice to see a forum that doesn't look like something from the mid 90's! I just noticed your choice in bed size too, great choice my friend!
