Gear Oil for the 3rd Gen - GL 4 vs GL 5 / Differentials, Transfer and MT

My input on the subject.
Thought I would mention this as fluids get hard to find and when found can be expensive.

We all know the MT6 (manual transmission) needs GL 4 because of the syncro/blocks made of brass rings and other grades besides GL4 will cause problems.

Front and rear differentials can use common GL 5 75/85 without concern.

The transfer case ALSO has syncro/block rings made of brass rings as well. So, the expensive "Liquid Gold" LF 75W sold by Toyota is GL 4. at $80 - $125 per liter has a reason.
Toyota does not tell you it is GL 4 unless you do some homework.

The transfer case also has an internal oil pump so 75W is a reason of use, don't go with thick oil here........

I have bought all the OEM stuff in the past and paid for it,......... but also have found Redline makes the transfer fluid as well for $23 a liter.
I get my other fluids from there direct from Redline. https://www.redlineoil.com/find-products-for-my-vehicle

I have started the video at the syncro/block rings that are used because of the ability to "shift on the fly" from 2H to 4H at high or low speeds.
This is to explain the reason for proper GL 4 fluid use and is my experience I would like to share,.................................. take it or leave it.

I found a bulk sales deal I could not refuse again,.........
1692305308720.png

top shelf is 6 containers deep ..... bottom shelf is 12 containers deep
Pretty sure this adds up to about 120.000 miles of "regular" service.......(or a bit more  .)
Engine, MT, Transfer, Diff's and Coolant
The side boxes are plugs and filters.

NEVER let a good deal pass you by! (y)
