• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Tire Size Fitment and Lift

The wheels will fit no problem. What Hltaco was saying is he's running HUGE tyres without any rub. Generally with Toyota anything over 31" diameter you should think about rub. It all depends what tyres you want to run.

What is the offset on those rims? At the opposite end of the table.... is it possible to run 15" rims -with a spacer to clear the brake calipers? Just looking for options.

    Foreign Salvage Rebuild

Got a little back from the insurance company. I couldn't really push them too hard because the parts appear to be stolen from the dealers yard, and the marine insurance only covers the truck once the transporter picks it up. Doing my best to replace the parts for cheap; front fogs and bezels off...

We think it rolled too, just not very hard if that makes sense. Drivers window and windscreen were smashed, fender crushed, wing mirror intact. Drivers door bent, rear door straight. Its bizarre.

Well where did those 3 months go?! Things are still progressing but at a SUPER slow pace. Spectre intake is fitted and sexy as hell. Centre piece of grill has a solid perspex panel in it because I cant find Toyota letters to replace the missing letters. Its ugly but will get me through the...

In relation to this, most toyota wheels I'm seeing online are 7jx16 et35 Is that setup ok on a factory truck? What does the extra 10 offset do -make it wider wheelbase or closer to the brake calipers? This is so confusing.

As mentioned before 35psi is about right. Can go 5 either way depending how nobbly your tyres are. The more mud terrain softer is better so more rubber on the road. The smoother the tyre, a higher psi will get you better mpg.

Wheel question. What is the offset on oem trd pro wheels. The stamp says 16x7j 13. I'm guessing the "13" refers to the offset but as it doesn't say et I'm not 100% Tried to fit some other wheels the other day (8j) and they didnt fit. So need to know the minimum offset. Any ideas?

Can you fit a non drl headlight in a drl truck? Think I've come up with an idea. My truck has no headlights so I'm doing all this theory in my head. Non Drl headlamps are so much cheaper than their drl brother so... Why not put a switchback bulb in the turn signal socket and take the feed...

So Lexus headrests are a perfect fit. Bargain of the year I reckon. The dent in the drivers side is just my thumbprint. Window has arrived and has been fitted, but its revealed the door is a tiny bit bent at the top. And its visibly sticking out at the bottom. Not great news. Another part to...

    Drippy Exhaust

Ok cool. I thought it might be temperature related -whether engine or atmosphere. Daytime temps here at the mo are like 6°c so that probably explains alot. (I struggled to get the trd badge remains off the door because it had gone brittle) Thanks.

    Drippy Exhaust

Hey everyone. So I've had my truck running a few times and I've noticed the exhaust drips both out of the exit and where the middle and rear sections join. Over here most of our trucks are diesel and this never happens so it's a new thing for me. Is it just because the engine isn't up to...

My first truck was a single cab. It was nice having the longer bed but i'm 6'1 so the seat was always right back against the bulkhead. recently I've got used to extra cabs and double cabs with more space in the cab rather than the back. Looks alright though.

First Time Tacoma Owner - Build Plan

You're not getting the best prices for what you're after. Shop harder and you'll find that wheelset @ $1100 and the falken tyres retail at 100 a piece.... Also those headlights can be found for $200 less More money saved = more toys. And you can still sell your factory wheels. Happy hunting. ;)

I wouldn't say harder, just more expensive. We have ARB stockists here so that was always an option, but the low profile bumpers where you cut away at the factory bumper just about qualify as a large parcel. -And I think look much better. FedEx quoted me something like £300 to get one here...

Hi. So some of you may know I'm rebuilding a salvage truck. This means searching the globe for parts at the best prices. I've come across some front fog lights that are the Rigid Industry style, but the manufacturers only want to make 10 or so sets minimum. I'm trying to beat them down to 5...

Ok so update. The truck landed, has been processed through customs and is now at a shipping agents yard in the uk. It's cheaper to store it there than the docks. But I've suffered a bit of a set back. Somewhere along the line MORE bits have been stolen. The most random being ONE wheel. Yep...
