• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

4.88's or 5.29's for your Tacoma?

I too am trying to decide what gears I should go with. Right now I'm running about 350lbs of armor on the truck with 33 inch tires. Eventually I will probably add a steel rear high clearance and possibly 34's or 35's, but that's not happening anytime soon. I also live in Denver and drive into...

They are actually Method NV's! 16" and 265s in that older picture. I've changed my setup since that picture though now I'm sitting on a 2.5" lift with 285s!

Yeah so far I'm liking it! It's nice that I can run regular colored LEDs (6500k) when its not snowing and then yellow LEDs (3000k) when it is.

    Colorado_Taco17 Build Thread

Thanks! So far I'm liking it, I think it rides a little softer than stock but I believe that is due to the armor that I have on it. I'm really enjoying the amount of travel I have in the rear right now, I have at least two more inches in travel than stock.

    Aluminum Skids?

Yeah I think I made the right choice going with steel for what I'll be doing haha
  40. Colorado_Taco17

    Aluminum Skids?

I was really considering that same setup, however after seeing the weight savings I decided I would just go full steel. This was mainly just for peace of mind on the trail, and for only 22 extra pounds it didn't seem like that much extra weight. I could have gone back and forth all day debating...

I personally got mine from CBoy808 over on TacomaWorld and it looks fantastic. He can pretty much make any type of decals/stickers as long as you have an idea in mind. I've also seen people get them from ebay, I think that might be the cheaper route. Up to you!

I would say a little less than 3 minutes per tire. I can normally fill all 4 tires up in about 12 minutes.
