    I’m running wildpeak 285/70r17, icon rebounds 17x8, 4.5 backspacing iirc. The first image is the before and after UCA install. the 2nd was a 2nd alignment after doing a road test and noticing that there was still a slight pull to the side.

    I couldn't keep my truck stock... i decided to buy the OME 887 kit. Once installed, my 265s and stock TRD sport wheels were immediately looking a little small. So I bought some 17s and moved the 265s to those. It looked much better, so i took it in for an alignment and they couldn't dial it...

    Help me choose some damn tires

    +1 for falkens. So far, not one complaint. They look great, and they're not crazy loud. Got mine at america's tire on a price match. Found a local tire shop that was offering 285/70r17 @ $164.95 ea (regular price $195). Brought that to america's tire and they matched it. Done deal!

    How did the regearing change the performance? Does it increase throttle response or mpg? I'm scraping by on 15mpg now that i upgraded to 285s, and the performance suffered dramatically from 265.

    Leveling kit required for 887 and 33s?

    For the OME 887 kit, is it also necessary to get a leveling kit to clear 33” tires? I’m wearing out my stock sport tires and will be leveling up to 33s soon. I know i’ll be needing an alignment as well, so wanna make sure i get everything bolted on before going in for another alignment. Thanks!

    2-3 inch lift and tire size

    Here’s my OME 887 lift (2”?) on 265/70r17. Waiting on tires to bald before going 285. They do look a little bald from a distance.

    When you install the 887 OME kit, do you also get a leveling kit? Just lifted mine and it looks like the rake is much more pronounced now?

    I just installed he 887 OME kit with dakar heavy duty leafs. Went for an alignment and the individual caster was not able to get into spec, although the overall caster is in spec. Looks like these UCAs are my solution, but is there any long-term problem with running 2.5” lift on the stock UCAs?

    4WP refused to honor their screwed up posting and gave me the 887 kit with medium duty leaf springs, so I returned it And just got another 887 kit from headstrong with the heavy duty dakars.

    Yup, what outkast said. I’ll call them today to verify that the shop is going to honor their word and deliver what they said they would. But the sku is for the 887 setup; they just posted it with the bp51 photo.

    Yeah, 4WP totally put the wrong photo on their kit. Double checked the SKU. :) . I do want the OME 887/Dakar setup, so most probably Headstrong. Unless I can pick it up at 4WP tomorrow during coffee and donuts event. :)

    Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated! The BP-51 kit is definitely out of my budget and a little too much for my needs. the bilstein 888/5100 setup is the direction i’m leaning toward.

    Thanks for the inputs, guys. I daily drive mine and will probably only be doing about 10% offroad, that being fire roads, sand and/or light trails initially. My budget is around $1600, definitely below $2k. For my purposes i seriously doubt i’ll need resis. I don’t want to go spacer lift either...

    I’ve seen a few others post that they just needed to relocate the mounting bracket like 1/2” to fit the larger tire. I’m still stock so i haven’t had the need to get under there to find out for myself.

    Do you wave at each other on the road? Classic car guys do, classic vws throw each other peace signs, and modded audi folks wave at each other on the road (well the older generations did, at least). Honda kids just rev on each other or try to steal each others’ parts. Is there a tacoma bro nod?

    There’s also the ECT PWR button which is pretty decent and gets you into the power band. The pull is somewhat decent but nothing compared to the performance of a sedan.

    I went the cheap way and bought LED fogs. They look cool when they’re staring youin the face, but they don’t put out much light where it’s needed. I’ll probably go with yellow fogs and call it a day. Love me some HIDs someday.

    If you have suspension with external resi, but don't get much off-road time, is it really necessary to keep rebuilding your kit? What happens if you don't rebuild regularly, as suggested?

    I used to have a small kidde in my vw bug. Thankfully i never had to use it. From what i remember, It didn’t seem to hold pressure for a long period of time and i never bothered to get it refilled/pressurized.
