• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

That might be my final step. Liking that approach better than mounting crap on the roof of the runner.
Those look good. I've got a medium duty hiker trailer being made now. Will make it so much easier to have everything packed and ready. Just hook up and go. And a 6" memory foam mattress. Oh yeah!

Jerry if you don't mind posting what did you pay for the s2 set up. Bypasses/the other parts
I have the opertunity to buy the bypasses so well just need the tower an LCA parts to complete it

I got a really good deal but not really at liberty to discuss publicly. Sorry mang.. stepping up the 4runners game?

That's the plan!
Dudes trying to get $800 for just the bypasses, rebuilt in February an never remounted. You think that's a decent deal?

If they are in good shape then yeah, definitely a good deal

Well, since all the cool kids are doing it, I went ahead and scheduled ECM re flash for the TSB-0062-18.

it really does smooth everything out. however after the reflash there is bearly any difference between ect and regular.

Let me know your thoughts on it. I'm a little thrown off by the symptom being "power surge between 40-50mph"..
40-50 is usually my range of driving since I take side streets to work. I had mine done last week and don't feel anything like that going on. I'm really pleased with this TSB all around compared to before.

I was confusing TSB-0062-18 with TSB-0058-18. Scheduled my appt at Camelback next Tuesday for the update (y)

Mine is happening as we speak. Excited to see what it does.

On the surface, it sounds like it accomplishes what the ov tune does. I've long felt that the tune they offer is mostly snake oil as I have been around toyota long enough to know that theres not much if any power to glean from a tune. So if this free TSB improves throttle response and shifting, then I was venture to guess that the ov tune is a big waste of money

Re-flash is done and on my short drive into the office, could definitely notice a difference in throttle response. Feels a lot more responsive and seems to deliver power much more efficiently.

Kind of confirmed my suspicion that the snake oil OV "tune" is a waste of money

Called the local Toyota and asked for them to perform the TSB. Said they had to run diagnostics first to see if it is something else. Gave me the impression they didn't want to do the TSB. If they don't, I'm going to detonate on someone.

Lmfao.. so today I go to TW to delete my account and bid that fuckshow farewell. Turns out, they dont give you the option to do so because losing members doesn't benefit their bottom line. Nevertheless, I send the mods a PM politely asking them to delete the account, to which they banned me for "rules violation". Seriously, that place is a fucking joke, run by a bunch of useless clowns.

Anyhow, ECU reflash is fawking awesome! Like fer real, what a difference. Truck feels snappy, throttle response is instant and generally feels like it accelerates so much faster without the big power surges. Best zero dollars and hour I've spent at the dealership

I hope they give me the ECU reflash Saturday. With all these hills around here I so want to get rid of the non stop shifting.

Having some major mod withdraws on my truck!! @Baja Designs has one of my OnyX bars and is basically upgrading everything on it, so that's awesome!! But now I am thinking that I need to move a rear bumper up on my priority list and finally pull the damn trigger.

In the meantime, I am installing another Switchpro for a friend tomorrow. He's got a slew of @Baja Designs lights that we will be wiring up and will have a pretty bad ass 4Runner when it's all done!

@hellppy you need to get some parts so I can satisfy my mod itch!
