I figured. Not trying fit a cap anyway. Looking to get full height rack soon and most companies label it as 2005+ Tacoma and I'm not sure if there will be any issue of rack and roof rack (later) not lining up.
I know many parts between the two generations are interchangeable but is the distance from bed to top of cab the same on both? Just curious as it may help when buying used parts like full height bed racks, Softopper, etc meant for 2nd gen. I personally never owned a 2nd gen or know anyone right...
Yeah it's the ECGS. I haven't lifted my truck yet but there was definitely slop on driver side axle vs passenger side on OEM bearing. If you do decide to do it, there's only a few things to remove. Remove spindle dust cap to gain access to and loosen axle nut (35mm). Remove two 19mm bolts that...
So I went ahead and did the install. The hardest parts were removing the axle dust cap, having to remove my front skid plate (65 lbs) to pop out the axle and driving in the bushing. I would recommend a race bearing driver cause it made life real easy.
Hey team gonna tackle the ECGS bushing install soon but got some questions before I commit. I received bushing with a dent on the drive end, will it be ok? Is it supposed to have a line (journal) for some reason? Also I have MT, and the the bushing states 2005+ Tacoma, are they all the same?
If I grab it at the side that goes directly into the trans, I can move it vertically and horizontally. This is only on driver's side, passenger side has tighter clearance and no play. No weird sounds when I drive though.
