YotaWerx Tuning is located in El Paso, TX and is a partnership of local Toyota enthusiasts who offer tuning/flash services for supported vehicles. We have been offering flash services since June 2020.

Linked below is a map of our YotaWerx Tuning network. Please view to see if there is a YW networked tuner near you:
YotaWerx Tuning Network - Google My Maps (https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1N0tl8rjAmM08bPGRXzrXyV4mICU4wo_Y&usp=sharing)

The nicknames for some of our tune options reflect the differences between them and are inspired by our proximity to Fort Bliss.

You may already know of us as the original owners of Coyoza_Tuning, and the developers of the popular Coyoza tune for the 6MT 3rd gen Tacoma, routinely recommended as the preferred tune available for the manual trans 3GT. The Coyoza custom MT tune and the brand was acquired by CVC Tuning and we have rebranded locally under the new name of YotaWerx Tuning.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions. We can also be reached on Facebook at YotaWerx Tuning and on Instagram at @yotawerx .. or via email at [email protected]

Thank you for your support and have a great day!

We elected to reintroduce a custom tune for the 3.5L 6AT Tacoma.

This tune is intended to be a solid "in-between" of OVTune 2.0 and Coyoza 1.3

The intent is not to try to take this tune into the battlefield with KD and CVC and Valley Runner and whatever else and say that it's better or best and the one you want, etc. It's not intended to make tune selection more confusing for new customers than it already can be.

We took what we learned from both Coyoza for the AT and our very successful Coyoza for MT and applied it to this reintroduction of a custom tune option for the AT with the intent of simply providing customers with another option available to them. This tune is not for someone who is looking for a very aggressive tune, or a supremely high power tune. You could describe this tune as another daily driver option for the individual that doesn't care to have a race truck. Essentially the same premise that Coyoza for the 6MT was developed on.

Reports by testers are that it's very smooth in terms of cruising, acceleration, and shifting, and that the tune possesses more than acceptable acceleration that does not come on too sharply or snappy, but is simply ready and available when needed. Reports from testers include that the tune holds gears well through hills (although this is largely subjective as terrain and the definition of "hills" varies greatly by location).

Fuel economy discussions are a bit early to have still, and as usual fuel economy encompasses a wide range of factors and influences, but highway economy is looking to be in the 19-21mpg range, in terrain that includes hills, on trucks with additional weight onboard (not grossly overweight, but nonetheless an extra estimated 2-400lbs not including driver/passengers).

Once testing is complete, this tune will be made available for both remote sale and as an option for local flash service in El Paso, TX and the surrounding area.

1st post will be updated shortly...

Tune testing for the YotaWerx 3GT tune continues to go well. Starting to look more like this may be a viable "eco-tune", but hard to say when testers so far have only had little to moderate weight/mods on their trucks.

Feedback is that the fuel economy gains on this tune are noticeable and the tune is very smooth with a predictable and consistent throttle behavior, along with throttle response that is not aggressive but is there if you need it.

This feedback is in line with our goals for the tune, as described above. Although the fuel economy gains admittedly weren't really a planned goal, or expected.

Feel free to reach out if you are interested in testing.

For anyone with a 5th gen 4runner, we have an update on our custom tune testing for the 5T4R here: https://www.4runners.com/threads/yo...s-development-and-feedback.21473/#post-271990

Bump, still looking for 5th gen 4runner testers in case anyone here also has a 5T4R, especially stock or close to stock trucks, and heavy/heavily modified vehicles and/or aggressive drivers.

If you are not in/near El Paso, you will need to either have VFTuner so that you can flash your truck, or someone nearby who can flash for you.

Edit: Also still wanting a few more 3GT testers

YotaWerx 3GT supercharger tune testing...
:cool::devilish:

@a2lowvw (TacomaWorld handle)

YotaWerx Supercharger tune testing has moved into full throttle pulls while datalogging and now expanding to include both manual and automatic transmissions tune testing!

Dyno sessions scheduled for the YotaWerx 90mm pulley supercharger tune, for next week. Booked for next Saturday.

Today, one of our testers for YotaWerx's supercharged 3GTacoma tune, for vehicles running the Magnuson supercharger with the 90mm pulley, strapped down on the dyno down in Hawaii!

We made further revisions following Thursday's dyno runs and chose a file to run today.

VEHICLE and CLIMATE DETAILS:

- tire size is 295/70/17
- ambient temperature: 85°F (approximately 25° warmer than Thursday's dyno runs)

Dynograph below; the red run is the Magnuson supercharger tune for the 90mm pulley. The blue and green runs are the YotaWerx tune.
In total, the dynograph demonstrates a 17whp/23wtq gain for the YotaWerx 3GT SC tune, as well as significant improvement throughout the entire powerband.

Since October2021, we have been working hard with many testers across several climates and elevations to refine this tune and bring the community something that excels in drivability while providing power, usable power, that enhances all aspects of the driving experience. Having the highest power number means nothing if the drivability suffers.

We are grateful to VF Tuner for constantly working to provide and improve upon the tools available within their software to make projects like this possible.

HUGE shout out of appreciation to all of our testers, some of which will continue working with us as we turn our attention more fully to the 87mm pulley tune. Our testers spent months working around their personal schedules, using their own trucks, spending their own money on fuel, even covering dyno costs despite not needing to do so themselves, several of them doing datalogs on 2-3 tunes EVERY SINGLE DAY. Over the course of this project, we probably received the same number or more additional offers by others to assist with testing and providing feedback, and we'd like to say that the support received from the community for this has been outstanding. Thank you all!

UPDATE on YotaWerx Tuning MagSC tune:

Still trying to aim for a release date of May 21st for the 90mm pulley supercharger tune. Been spending long hours to get through building the tunes for the ecu versions, and I am also exploring the idea of two throttle response options.

Some bugs with the datalogger with the recently updated VF1.6 software mean that the 87mm tune may be a slightly delayed, but shouldn't be much further behind still. The tune had been progressing alongside the 90mm tune and pretty much just needs verification of AFR and ignition, followed by dyno day.

VFTuner is aware of the datalogger bug and is working on a fix.

Further update on the YotaWerx Tuning MagSC tune:

EDITED to update introductory price duration upon launch.

Price:
Upon initial launch on May 21st, the introductory price for the 90mm Pulley tune file for the first 12 hours will be $500USD. This will run from 0700 - 1900 MST.

Following those 12 hours, it will become regular price of $700USD.

Normal price for tuner flash service for the FI tune is $1000, and will be $800 on the 21st for the tune release.

Please be prepared to fill out, sign, and return the YotaWerx Tuning waiver prior to receiving the tune. Providing your vehicle's VIN is required. Failure to provide these items will result in YotaWerx Tuning declining to proceed further with the transaction. If these items are provided after the initial 12-hour window has expired, eligibility for the promotional pricing will be forfeit.

This is set for the 90mm pulley, since that is the pulley size that comes with the Magnuson supercharger kit by default. Everyone should have the 90mm pulley, even if it was never installed due to wanting to run the 87mm pulley.

During the tune release, orders will only be accepted via our email ([email protected]). This will assist us in keeping track of customers and keeping inquiries in one place.

The 87mm pulley tune will be an additional $50USD. Once released, it can be packaged with the 90mm option, but since they'll be getting released separately, existing 90mm customers can of course reach out to get it when released.

We will accommodate requests for tire size, regear, and AGM settings. We already do so for several of our testers. Tunes will be available in gearlock versions as well (ECT + S-mode). As stated in the post above, we are also exploring two different throttle response options.

Like on the NA side, updates to the tune made by YW will be made available to existing customers for free. If we announce an update, reach out to receive it.

If you are running a snorkel, modification may be required. I don't know if this is the case for every snorkel brand, but the ones run by a couple of our testers were noted to require modification due to their design significantly restricting airflow, enough so that boost was severely limited, sometimes even non-existent. This is something we've noticed with some snorkels on the NA side as well.

This community deserves a big thank you for the patience and support that has been given to YW. It sounds cliche but we really couldn't have reached this point without it. 10 testers from all over the US, literally hundreds of hours spent on every aspect of the tune... it's all come a long way from where we started out back in early October last year. Thank you.

Updated to include revision of promotional pricing upon launch based on community suggestion, as well as some specifics required for obtaining the tune.

As a sort of celebration of our launching the YW SC tune this Saturday, we're holding a sale across the network this weekend for NA tune packs and flash services. This will be available Friday through Sunday, May 20-22.

Tune flash services for supported NA vehicles will be $50 off.

Tune packs for remote purchase will be $20 off.

On Saturday the 21st from 0700-1900 MST, the YotaWerx Tuning Stryker Magnuson supercharger tune for the 90mm pulley, for the 3GTacoma, will be discounted for its launch (see earlier post for more complete details).

YotaWerx Tuning and Nexus have been collaborating together for several months now on a significant update to our N/A 3.5L Tacoma tunes, a complete overhaul really. This collaboration brings together a wealth of knowledge ranging from Nexus' expertise with transmission control and YW's track record with creating high torque output tunes, including some concepts that translated very well over to the N/A tunes from the Forced Induction side of the house.

Today, the co-named "Blackhawk" tune is unveiled. Several testers have been trying out this tune, testing it across many climates and elevations, providing daily feedback and datalogs to assist in its development.

This morning, the Blackhawk premium fuel tune was run on the dyno against the stock tune; see below for the dynograph.

Coordination and scheduling to dyno the regular fuel tune is in the works as well, and we're looking forward to the results as even on regular fuel, there is excellent and strong power delivery down low in the powerband which is carried smoothly up through the tach.

YotaWerx is aiming for a release on 11 June, but it may drop sooner. If it does, it'll be made available on 03 or 04 June. I will be sure to keep everyone updated. Remember, customers already tuned on YotaWerx tunes for their 3GTacoma can get this tune update for free.

This is an N/A tune correct?

Edit: should have read the dyno. Impressive

am I seeing this is available?

Question: does it incorporate the newest VFtuner releases? The gear lock and ect as a second map?

Interest.

That's an upcoming feature release from VFT, not yet available. I'd certainly like to take advantage of that though.

Regarding the tune availability, the Blackhawk tune was released but 3-4% of drivers on the regular octane tunes out of maybe 100 or so trucks tuned encountered a limp mode issue not encountered during testing, so we're addressing that prior to resuming tune distribution. Issue not observed with the premium fuel tune version. We believe we've identified the cause and our tester has not yet replicated the issue on the fixed test tune, so hopefully we can resume tune distribution soon.

In the meantime, we've returned to distributing our previous tune version (pre-Blackhawk) to new customers.
