Winch install

I didn't get the relocation kit, I think I can just move the control box to the side like you mentioned.

Some of y'all will laugh at this, but I came inside because I was getting too hot working on the truck...lol

Karen had a pretty decent deadlift.
With some help from over head ratchet strap.

I'm gonna have to figure out where to mount the control box.
Anyone else have a control box solution to share with me?

I put mine in front of the radiator, used the el cheapo bracket that came with my smittybilt. Not real solid, but works. If I was going to do some rough off roading, I'd need to build it up a bit.

The sun is wicked up here.
I'm comfortable at about lower temps. Average annual temperature here is 33f
Got the winch bumper all done today.

Installing a winch on your vehicle is a practical upgrade if you plan on off-roading or need reliable recovery support. The process usually starts with choosing a winch that matches your vehicle’s weight and mounting it securely to a compatible winch bumper or mounting plate. A strong, properly aligned mount is essential to handle the pulling force safely.

Next comes the electrical setup, which involves connecting the winch to your vehicle’s battery using heavy-duty cables. It’s important to route the wires carefully, avoiding sharp edges and heat sources, and to install a circuit breaker or fuse for safety. Once everything is connected, you can mount the control box and test the winch to ensure smooth operation.

Finally, always double-check all bolts, wiring, and connections before using the winch in real conditions. Proper installation not only improves performance but also ensures safety for you and your vehicle during recovery situations.
