What for shipping cost?

I tried to order AVS aero hood protector...one company Carid...offers three colors ....White is the one I wanted total cost$140.00 ....
Then it post $9.99 shipping cost to the order...
When it got to place Oder to purchase...the shipping cost went up to $85.00 (Hawaii). It did ask early for zip code...
Off course I cancel....it..
Lucky you live ion the mainland...continental of USA....

I had a customer order some custom molle panels from me...shipping is over $200 to hawaii for him. I cant believe how much it costs to ship items there!
