Thinking of getting a dometic fridge 100l, not sure what to do with battery and solar options? Anyone have any cool set ups?

(Open to other solutions that are lower tech if possible I read about the circuit boards failing.)

also a question on organization for the truck bed.

I want something to organize my dry food, clothes, keep my fridge in place, kitchen utensils/plates/cups/ cleaning stuff, stove, water, ammo, guns, tools, etc. any suggestion on organization? Maybe custom?

Anyone have any solutions they are enjoying?

**I have a smartcap on the 5ft truck bed.

I run a dual battery (odyssey 35's) managed by a redarc bcdc1225, setup with a renogy 100W solar panel (hardwired to roof rack). Which in turn the auxillary battery powers my Dometic PLB40, which then powers my Dometic 65L fridge. The fridge runs non-stop during the summer months and the PLB40 rarely leaves 100% power. I use the PLB40 as a backup in case I need to seperate the auxillary batteries power for something else like lights or a heater.

I have the PLB40 and a Jackery 100w solar panel, but I haven’t been able to find an adapter to make them work together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What’s the output on the Jackery? The PLB40 takes an Anderson SB50 input. I have a 100W all power solar panel that I made a MC4 to SB50 for. Works like a dream.

If you're comfortable terminating wires and cutting the Jackery cables, you can do MC4 connectors on the red and black to retain functionality of the 8mm output. Then you can do an MC4 to SB50 and that should charge the PLB40.

Otherwise, I got this cheap panel to test out and I'm still using it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DKTZY7G/?tag=tacoma3g-20. You still need an MC4 to SB50 cable though.

hello!
Im not fully into the electrical/solar systems yet but i will be soon.

I do know a bit about dry storage tho, the decked system is a whole other level than anything ive used in the past. I did a couple custom setups first but they never had the ease of use and........ COMPLETE WATERPROOFING. drove through many a car wash with things like paper towels or toilet paper in the drawers and side cubbies without a drop of water getting into them. This is the best thing ive seen around unless you want to drop like a billion dollars on a goose gear setup.

Below is my truck (shortbed model like yours) Drawers pull out more than enough and you can still place heavy stuff on top or bolt things to it, like i did with my pressurized system from waterport.

Thanks for the idea. In that case would it make sense to hook up to the main battery with simple alligator clamps? The only time I use the solar panel is in camp.

Does this setup charge your Odyssey's too or just the Dometic PLB40?

When not on solar the battery can just run on cig plugs to charge while running. That’s my go to when in transit, then set up solar at camp
