I found a good deal on a set of trd pro wheels which are 17x7. My plan is to lift my truck 3 inches and run 275/70r17 tires. Will it be safe to run the larger tire on a 7 wide wheel or should I look for a 17x8 wheel?
It'll be fine. It's obviously not ideal, but I've seen plenty of people running 285/70/17 on those wheels.
One thing to consider about those wheels is the offset. They sit very close in to the truck. If you're looking for that wide stance, the factory TRD Pro wheels won't give it to you, you'll need spacers. So if the wide look is what you want, go with a different wheel.
