If you drive down rough roads, I would include damage to your bike and vehicle in the cost of a cheap one. Especially if your bike costs more than many used cars.I got the cheapest Allen 4 bike rack I could find and it's worked great for more than a decade. My advice is don't overspend.
I can't imagine how rough a road would have to be where a cheap rack would cause damage and an expensive rack would not.If you drive down rough roads, I would include damage to your bike and vehicle in the cost of a cheap one. Especially if your bike costs more than many used cars.
Have you seen how much wiggle there is on cheap racks? Not sure where you go, but sure matters to lots of people.I can't imagine how rough a road would have to be where a cheap rack would cause damage and an expensive rack would not.
Yep, a 1UP wouldn't let that happen. That's my point.Doesn't matter how expensive the rack is...know how to use it. Missrigged a bike to a $900 Thule rack and drug my son's $3500 bike across the desert floor.
