Nice truck! Any reason you went with a Safari snorkel over a Dobinsons? Just curious cuz I'm looking at getting one. Also what paint did you use on your wheels?

safari was the only one offered when I bought my snorkel. I got it early on

and I bought a wheel kit from dipmycar.com or something like that. It’s a plasti dip kit. They have a ton of color options.

Nothing like a nice, long, sandy, trail limo! Your build is absolutely badass. Welcome to the forum.

Do you feel a difference with those upgraded brakes?
Absolutely. I had more weight on my truck at the time of install, about to add more weight again tho. I was right behind a 13 car wreck on a single lane road, I would most definitely have been involved if it wasn’t for the brakes.

Awesome. Can you please link me to where you bought the brakes?

Thank you! I'm going to add them to my list of brake upgrade options. Just need to decide which brand to go with.
Nice. If you have rims bigger than 16” I’d suggest big break kit.

I have 16s. I assume you say that because a big break kit wouldn't fit in the 16s? They're -10mm offset, not sure if that helps.

From what I’ve gathered in reading a few things, I do not believe they fit with anything under a 17” rim. Essentially you would be putting a Tundra sized assembly on and their rims start at 17”-20” because of that.
I’ve never tried it tho. I’m getting ready to upgrade to 17” rims and 35’s with eventually a big break system. (Probably sooner than expected)

but it could be a year before I pull the trigger on all of this due to domino effect of increasing size of tires and wheels.

That makes sense. Thank you for the info.

I won't be getting 17s anytime soon as I just got new 16s. But I absolutely need the strongest brakes I can install.

Nice. I’m actually getting the rims you have now in a 17” if I can find a buyer for my methods

Best rims on the market for a QS truck!
For sure. Getting my spare out from under my truck this weekend and was thinking how much of an eye sore it would be in my truck bed on the stock steelie, so it got me in the market for rims.
All in preparation for my rear highclearance to arrive next week.

I have the stock steelie on the back of my truck for the spare, I don't mind how it looks. But if you're replacing yours and mounting it to your bumper, I'd love to see what it looks like. I've been wondering if I should buy the 5th wheel.

My bumper didn’t offer a swing out yet so as of now I’m mounting in my bed with a prerunner style sloped triangle mount

When you said in the bed I assumed you just meant thrown in there, but I see what you mean now. That should look pretty badass with these wheels.

Are you running 285’s or 35’s?

Received my rear tacomapocalypse highclearance tube bumper this week. Managed to get it installed yesterday. It turned out great. Time to go put some trail rash on it.

Very nice man. I'm really starting to dig the tube rear bumpers. I've been looking at the warfabinc rear.

Just checked out there website, only 45 ponds is awesome! I have a CBI with duel swing out its defiantly not that? If the Black-n-Tan has to go on a diet this is a great option. Looks great and thanks for posting!

Thanks. The weight made for an easy install. Doesn’t weigh anymore than the stock bumper and hitch I would think. But I’ve never checked weight on them either.
