Maintenance Touch Up Paint

Cleaned up my rig after the fall empty nest trip. Looks like the front fender took a few rock chips near the headlight. I’m leaning toward buying touch up paint from the dealer since the Tacoma is 1600 miles overdue for its first oil change.

Any recommendations on touch up paint? Ones to avoid? Since I can see bare metal and winter is coming in Minnesota, time is of the essence.

Any automotive paint store should be able to make you a touch up bottle off of your paint code. The ones from the dealer do match better in some cases.

I read a few complaints about the dupli color one not matching well. Jeep sent one to us after we bought my wife’s grand cherokee. I guess it’s not that difficult to match black though.

At the store I work at, we carry PPG and can mix it up and put it in a spray can

Touch up paint won't make it look like new but you're definitely correct to use to protect from corrosion
