The new white truck.

Some photos and some updates:
  • Ditched the Pro/Wescott suspension for a Falcon 2.25" SPORT TOW/HAUL setup with an Icon rear AAL, no factory overload leaf, firestone rear bags, and Daystar lower bag mounts. Really happy with it. Tuneability under different loads or pulling the trailer is awesome.
  • Prototype bed rack. Fits over a Bestop or Softopper cap. More information soon.
  • 5.29 gears
  • Switched to Kanati Mud Hogs in 295/70R17
  • Finally got tired of the exhaust crossover drop BS and rerouted it for a flat belly (no photos sorry.)

Flacons were great, but I wanted a little more lift and was really curious about the Bilstein's because I haven't run them in anything. This new coating on them is super nice, we will see how it holds up in Michigan. For now, running the Icon rear RXT packs in Option 2, but I may either switch to 3 or put the airbags back in for when I'm towing.

With the spare out back, if the bags go back in I will fab an upper cross-member and axle pads to inboard them a bit so I can keep the bumps. No room bumps was my biggest complaint with the Icon AAL/airbag combo before.

I did really like the rear Falcon tow/haul compression knob though. I'm going to miss that feature I think.

Driveway shot of current stance. This is with the 650lb springs and the adjusters set at the highest recommended settings per the instructions. Aluminum front bumper, synthetic rope on the winch, dual batteries, steel skids, aluminum slider skins, rear bumper with one carrier, and an empty fridge in the back.

Truck looks great dude. I'm a little jealous you were able to score a set of the 8100's. They were my first choice for this truck but when I was in the market everyone was backordered over a year. After a few revalves I'm very pleased with my ADS's (and like that they're local) but still kinda want to see what the 8100's are all about. I didn't like my RXT pack at all (but my bed is empty most of the time). When I did have weight it rode great, but otherwise it was excessively harsh. They should be perfect for your setup with that bed config.

Found 1 qty of each corner of the Bilsteins on Summit Racing and jumped on em. I think the RXTs ride great with the current 400lbs or so sitting on them. Just worried about towing my flatbed trailer loaded or the bed full of gear off-road.

I ordered this truck with the desert air intake, but it would have added a bunch of time to delivery, so I told the dealership not to worry about it. A couple of years later I finally installed one. Yeah, snorkels are dorky, but I like the idea of keeping the dust, sand, and snow out of my airbox.

Honestly, in the context of all the other mods, I think it looks fine (y)

The latest mod has shipped and is en route! Planning on frequent updates on the progress of the install.

Yes, do tell. Had a guy recently tell me in his experience of about 5 Tacoma with this installed that the real-world oomph was not that great.

I'm not expecting it to make the truck fast, so my expectations may be different than other people. 300whp in a 6k lb truck won't be a race car, but it will be way better than the ~230 they put down stock.

We have a Gladiator at the shop with a 505 hp (crank) 6.4 Hemi. It's a blast to drive, but it's also not a race car.

Now 500hp in a 3,500lb car? Fast 😂

Ok ok ok...so what's it like? I've tuned and regeared, and still want to sell this underpowered (yet still super reliable) dog of a vehicle. If only it had some oomph!
It's good. It's not like race car fast, but it's got great usable power. Still need to get it on the highway. If it holds 5th gear at 75 it will be worth every dollar 😂
