255/85/r16 vs 285/75/r16 ?

Seems to be a popular question, figured I’d throw a few all together and see what pops up-

Just got 2023 Access Cab SR5 4x4 v6 w/ 25,000 miles on it. Always wanted to make somethin somewhat minimal but a step up from stock. The least amount of mods the better far as tires goes. On it currently are stock 16x7 wheels (pretty slim).

I can’t decide on keep the wheels and go pizza cutter direction or get new wheels and either go pizza cutter or the 285s but then would have to do trims. Any thoughts on this set up with wheels and tires would be great.

I am really like the 255/85/16 on a Tacoma. It is a great balance of offroad performance without all of the rubbing issues. The biggest downside with the 255/85/16 is a lack of tire choices in that size. If you find a tire that you like in 255/85/16 that would be what I would go for.

Rad, thanks for the input 🤙🏾
Any thoughts on keeping the stock 16x7s or change for different wheel /size

Unless you want a method bead grip for airing down offroad, or you just do not like the looks of the stock wheel I would save the money and run the stock wheels. That is just my onion so take it for whatever it is worth to you.
