Sway bar removal on ground?

Hi all,

I went to remove my sway bar this evening on my 2022 Trail Edition. I got the skid plate, end links, and four bushing bolts removed without issue; however, when it came to fishing the sway bar out from under the truck, I couldn't figure out how to do it without the bar getting stuck. Is it necessary to jack up the front end and remove the wheels to get it out? I was under the impression that it was not. I also saw online that it might be okay to unbolt the front braces and fish the sway bar out that way; is that in fact the case? I didn't want to mess up my alignment or anything like that.

I'm headed out to the desert this weekend for my first major test of the truck off-road, and I want to maximize my articulation and ride quality.

Thanks!

I've removed them from a few trucks and I'm pretty sure you can do it on the ground after just unbolting it. I don't recall needing to remove the endlinks off the bar or remove a wheel, but it's easy enough to remove a wheel if you need to. Turning it left or right might give you enough clearance as well if that's where it's holding up.

If your suspension is stock, removing the bar can make driving the truck unpredictable, but if it's beefed up send it with it off and don't look back.

I ended up removing the two brackets that connect the bumper to the frame and the sway bar popped right out.

Coming from a Wrangler I was expecting there to be way more body roll, but it is pretty negligible. Truck handled great out in the desert and through several smaller rock crawling sections, so I think the sway bar will be gathering dust up in my rafters!
