Small Crack in Windshield – Repair or Replace?

Hello everyone.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice about my windshield. I recently noticed a small crack on the passenger side, probably caused by a rock on the highway. It’s not directly in my line of sight, but I’m worried it could spread, especially with temperature changes.

The crack is about three inches long right now. Is this something that can be safely repaired, or should I consider replacing the entire windshield?

I’m also wondering how urgent it is to fix and whether insurance typically covers this type of damage.

Any insights or personal experiences would be appreciated!

I have had good luck with having cracks repaired. It is way cheaper than a new windshield. I can still see the crack after the repair, but it is less noticeable. As long as seeing the crack doesn't bother you a repair is a great less expensive option.
