Painting bed racks?

MacNobody

Hi all,

I ordered some bare metal bed rack bars and panels.

What are some good options for me to paint these at home?

What are your thoughts on bed liner? I don't see any reason that wouldn't work personally because they aren't going to be getting thrashed the way a bumper or sliders would.

I just finished bay area metal fab rack with spray on bed liner. I used rustoleom. about 6 cans. it's perfect. I plan on doing my sliders the same way since it came out so nice. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I will check it out. I'm hoping to do a walk-through of the process for documentation for my build thread and to help others in the future.

couple before and after of the spray on bed liner. also an up close to see the finish. came out great.

Looks great! Rustoleum bed liner in a can??

Just work in aviation and aquire some flat black poly. just aquired 4 cans of it myself to paint my new @C4 Fabrication hybrid bumper when it arrives

If only I had a friend nearby to acquire some for me. Is this something that I can buy?

It is! Hah just look for two part matte black polyeurethane cans. I’ve never looked on the internet or at stores before though because I’ve alwaus just gotten it from work so I don’t know average cost.

what'd you end up going with?. I am going to color my racks this weekend.
For my skids and sliders I cleaned it up with acetone and a wire brush then went with rustollium primer and matte black for easy touch ups. Just used a roller and brush.
