Found a local guy to do an OVTune for me. Planning to go with 33's (skinny or possibly 285's with a CMC) on my stock suspension 2020 TRD pro.

Can you guys think of any issues that would result in problems if I got the 87 octane tune for 31-33 inch tires prior to replacing the tires?
 
It's just the output of torque and where you'll feel it. No issues. Just might not be optimal.
So depending on the tune, it may feel like having more torque then level out when you get the right tires.

I recommend just buying the cable and the credits. Once your VIN is unlocked you can flash it on your own. You can get the 87, just get the 87 tune.
It's really easy. You'd just need a Tactrix Openport 2.0 cable + credits. From there you have the ability to check out other tunes.
 
No issues. That's what I did, OVtune to Regular (87), 33, and was running 265/75/16 for 6 month. Just upgraded to 285 last week, so far not feeling any different.

Stick with the skinnys tires, and you will be fine
 
i never felt much difference when i switched from a 265 tire to a 285 tire, but I also put the aluminum high performance breaks and rotors, which took about 60 pounds off the truck as well. and I didn't do a cmc either. I run the beach hard, and I have no rubbing issues
