• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

What's up everyone! I recently picked up a new 2021 trd OR this is my first truck ever, and I'm loving every mile so far. I'm a complete novice when it comes to wrenching on trucks, this forum has already been super useful. not sure how far I want to go with mods since I just got the thing, but I definitely want to upgrade the wheels/tires first lol any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum! I would just go out and rock the stock wheels for awhile. Those Wranglers are pretty good tires. That being said, I did “upgrade” to KM3s but I have a purpose built off road truck, not a daily driver.

Welcome to the family. As my brothers have already mentioned, don't waste money on new tires until you really need them. Wheels are a different story. If you want new ones, I'd keep the old ones to reinstall if you ever decide to sell the truck and buy a new one.

Welcome. Agree with Butch and DJ as well. I'm still rocking the original tires until next spring. Gonna try to get through another winter with them. I am keeping my original 16" rims/wheels since I wheel hard and scratch them up pretty good. Someday I'll replace them with some old school steelies.
Enjoy your truck!
